I played against a Benji guy in the side events at the pro tour, he ran the needle against my Rhinar. Aside from the fact that some divine entity was watching over him during our match (I kept whiffing on all my draw and discard), I was intrigued in his strat. He didn't care that his needle can break at moment to my d reacts, he kept swinging it. And when it did break, he wasn't phased by it. It made me include my needle back into my Benji and run it as the main weapon, and only side it out of I know my opponent runs a lot of d reacts. I run a lot more red attacks in my Benji bc I felt Benji is not posing enough threat. I want them to block so I don't get obliterated by their full grip every turn. With the current meta, most blitz heroes can crank 12+ damage with a full hand. And Benji can't do that unless it's an OTK turn. Which won't happen if they have armor. So I include red torrent, leg tap, scar for scar, one erase face, soul bead, and flying kick. It's nowhere near finish. But at least I can take the game to mid/end game when Benji is a little more viable.

Take the Tempo is a nice card for a hybrid Benji, it definitely wants you to be running Snapdragon Scalers though. Still it needs to be interacted with

Definitely some interesting ideas to try out with my own Benji deck, might pivot from an OTK strategy into a more tempo build. The only thing to note about that first sample turn is that second kodachi would not trigger MoM since it needs to be an attack action card to trigger, but just switching up the sequencing to be something like: kodachi, kodachi (razor reflex if blocked), then break tide (trigger mask). Just for a ruling stand point so people don't misplay the sequencing.

I used to run Heron's flight in Katsu in early Tales meta as a tech vs Briar. She wants to race and if she blocks it's Non Attacks

Salt the wound can get go again from ride the tailwind because it says base two or less.

Yup, they can

Im running a build similar to this, but leaning more to OTK. I've won my last 3 armory events and it feels VERY hard to beat.

For my more off turns I’ve been keen on Take the Tempo over Flying Kick since it can be played off of a Blue

I was thinking of including Take the Tempo as well, being a 1 cost. There's so many little things to try!
@Fireshot8442 жыл бұрын
@@DMArmada agreed. Benji is the hero that actually got me into the game. The concept of restricting your opponent from leveraging a mechanic enticing.

What are your thoughts on brandish and needle?
@DMArmada2 жыл бұрын
I almost ran brandish in the deck, actually. It's definitely on my short list of cards to try!

Would you run estrike? Also how would you go about blocking with benji?

Seeing Find Center and knowing it can be blocked by equipment makes me sad still. I loved playing that in CC

Yeah it's tough :/

Do you think Zephyr needles would bring more value than Kodachi?

Had a question for the tailwind vipox line, if you hit with tail, Benji will give vipox plus 1, but attacking with vipox will trigger shuko bumping it to 3 right, which then can be blocked?
@DMArmada2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you can put a kodachi in between to get the Benji buff!
@Fireshot8442 жыл бұрын
Right. Now Benji players have to hold back a Kodachi/Needle to eat the Benji buff and not double up on Shuko to go against their game plan.
