i agree with you, the graphics never mattered to FPS games in the first place, i think we reached the top in 2015 with Black Ops 3, since then all that focus on "realism" over visibility and eye candy made the games look worse, which is also why a game like Fortnite took over so quickly.

I agree with the graphics part, but I don't think the "type" of graphics is what really mattered tbh. Before Fortnite we already had H1Z1 + PUBG that had gritty graphics and they were immensely popular. It's just the shift on demographics and overuse of it all. Fortnite appeals to literal toddlers + it looked unique. The premise of it being a BR also helped a lot as well. I'd say Destiny is the FPS who mastered the balance of extraordinary enough graphics, where the visuals are just beautiful. While it's still grounded enough, despite taking place in space lol. I remember how pissed people were when BO3/BO4 came out and it was to "PC" lmao.

Black Ops 3 can actually look insanely good with proper lighting. I agree completely, 2016-2018 is probably the peak and now its just additional Photorealism can be really beneficial to games like Control or Alan Wake tho

I agree with you about the Graphics. Modern Day Ultra Realistic Graphics are so unnecessary and just make every game look so generic. I recently played Tomb Raider 2013 and I thought it was such a Beautiful Game Despite being 10 Years Old.
