Truly eye opening! I've been messing about in open tunings for several years and knew this was possible, but struggle getting past beginner stages from lack of info compared to srandard. open d is much closer to the sounds of nature. it is about overtones. very clean, simple. magic.

I have yet to see an open D tutorial that tabs actual chords. The basic chords are simple and very movable and knowing them makes open D accessible and simple. Licks are nice, but they are extraneous if what you want to do is play and sing.

I have watched any number of open D tutorials, and have yet to find one that shows you the very basic chords that ACTUALLY EXIST! Find the basic chord shapes and the rest is fun and games. Licks are for later.
