I've been playing open D (but tuned down to C) for years and this video was still very helpful. The relationship between 1st+2nd and 4th+5th tip is fantastic!

Happy it helped! Greetings!

Truly eye opening! I've been messing about in open tunings for several years and knew this was possible, but struggle getting past beginner stages from lack of info compared to srandard. I'm going to be watching your videos many times and wanted to personally say thank you. Screw the haters, thank you for this video and good camera angle.

open d is much closer to the sounds of nature. it is about overtones. very clean, simple. magic.

I have yet to see an open D tutorial that tabs actual chords. The basic chords are simple and very movable and knowing them makes open D accessible and simple. Licks are nice, but they are extraneous if what you want to do is play and sing.

I spent half the video watching you show off, and then wasted the rest watching you pick notes instead of standard chords

Absolutely! 45 seconds of useful information hidden inside 11 minutes of showboating.

I have watched any number of open D tutorials, and have yet to find one that shows you the very basic chords that ACTUALLY EXIST! Find the basic chord shapes and the rest is fun and games. Licks are for later.

Perhaps you could do a vid and slow it down to at least warp speed....?
@wowowiiwaa13372 жыл бұрын
You can slow it down to .25 speed with youtube
@rw41702 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Slow it down to where we can see what you're actually doing!

Did you quit Patreon?

Temporarily, I will probably reopen it soon, but it won’t be only guitar oriented. It will be mere dedicated to my activity as a full time musician, composer and blues recording artist. Sure there will be guitar material too, but it won’t be structured around guitar tutorials exclusively!
