When I listen to Oasis, always am I reminded of my favourite band AC/DC, there are some very nice similarities - both mostly use simple yet very catchy riffs in their music, both have brothers as members of the band and of course both bands can easily make you go deaf!!!!!

Well said!

that observation is on the money. plus both bands have a way of getting a lot of variation out of a limited musical toolbox, it's astonishing how many songs they came up with using essential cowboy chords... and both were hated & ridiculed for a long time by the bougie press & all those art rock aficionados

This riff is the definition of looking simple on a tab but then realising there's lots of tricks and flourishes to get it sounding anything like Noel played it at Knebworth for instance! This video helped with the basics a lot, thanks!

Absolutely! I'm glad the video was useful.

Thanks for the video Paul! But could you fix the focus problem that the video shows on some points?

Yeah I'm sorry about that I will see what I can do.

Brilliant lesson! You could do little by little, sad song or lyla
@cramoguitar7 жыл бұрын
I will probably do all three! Lyla has been the most requested recently so I will do that hopefully next week.

This song did scratch my mind at one point. I would like to request the chords and solo for “ the song The Importance of Being Idle”, which is from Oasis’ album “Don’t Believe the Truth”. There quite a few ways to do the chorus.
@cramoguitar7 жыл бұрын
That's a good one. I'll add it to my list.

Thanks for the video Paul. Is there any chance that when you do the second part of Columbia you could do the live version from Barrowlands? Pretty much the same as the album version but with a bit more added to finish i.e the walk down the neck towards the end. Thanks again for the great tutorials.
@cramoguitar7 жыл бұрын
I'll have a look I don't know the version off the top of my head but if it is close enough I might be able to add on the differences to the end of the video or something like that.
