@@DerrikRockne The live version of Wildest Dreams at the Grammy museum is done with an electric guitar, which totally changes the vibe of the song. Would be cool of you to do a quick listen of the song as it is, and then listen to the electric guitar acoustic. Might get the chanche to share some cool insight on how to extract the core of the song from a version, and change it's vibe and do a different version with another instrument. (A nice fact about Taylor is that she writes all of her songs with the explicit goal of them being good even if you strip down all production).

so I'm a novice guitarist, I'm training in classical and only know a few basic chords (the D/F# thing is completely new to me), so I'm not up to playing at this level yet, but you explained it so well! I'm very impressed by how you instantly parse what chords and patterns she's using just by listening. Taylor is my favorite artist so it's an absolute dream to learn her songs. I'll come back to this video when I feel a bit more confident in my skills. and you've earned a subscriber! seriously, great work. so clear and easy to follow.

I’ve been trying to figure out how she played “Better Man” at the bluebird cafe for so long. But it doesn’t show the guitar itself enough for me to figure it out cause i don’t have the ear to know which chords she is playing. If you get a chance, a tutorial for that would be awesome. It's amazing how this song can be broken down into parts like this. For casual listeners, the song itself is nice because of the melody and lyrics and the meaning. But hearing you dissect her performance, the conscious decision she makes in subtly increasing the intensity from verse to chorus and her overall dynamics - it really widens my perspective on her as an artist. Thank you! Looking forward to more of your content.

Just discovered you. Luv it. "She's as big as she is for a reason." Shortest and best acknowledgement I've heard yet of a young woman, obviously born with tremendous talent (she spoke full words at ten months when most children haven't yet learned to walk) who has worked so hard at perfecting her skills. Luv your reaction when she lets loose with those powerful vocal chords driven from her diaphragm, in contrast with the head voice she uses on the album. I've been a superfan from the moment I heard her sing Our Song in 2007 and got to tell her personally in 2008 she'd be as big as the Beatles, my only other superfan musical entity. She is simply amazing.

@@DerrikRockne I don't watch your Taylor Swift 'how to' videos to learn how to play like her; I can't play anymore because I messed up my left hand in 2003. I watch just to see the looks of utter amazement on your face when the breadth and scope of her talent comes altogether at peak moments. She has no equal. I'm hoping she considers doing a series of outdoor concerts next year with just her and a guitar and piano. I have no doubt she could draw crowds of a quarter million and up. And I would drive halfway across this continent to attend one. Or two. Or five.

Thanks Derrik for recognizing how great our American Queen really is and for complimenting her on her talent. I was so blown away by her vocals on this one too. So blown away that I had to get Hulu for a month, because they had the whole Paris performance on there for a little while and I had to watch it over and over again. I brag about her constantly. She has such amazing rhythm, but to feel the lyrics like she does at the same time! I am so impressed with her. More and more every day.

Thank you so much for doing this!! I've always looked for this type of tutorials where I can learn how Taylor Swift plays guitar in her concerts, what chords she's using, what're the strumming patterns... I didn't find any 😔 Now finally I got what I wanted!! 😊And thank you so much for making it! Do more of this type of stuff please! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for this video. My daughter has recently started learning acoustic thanks to TS and we've been learning a bunch of her songs together. This is one of our favorites, and we both appreciate the level of detail and professionalism (as well as the fandom) in your videos. I know these must be a lot of work to pull off, but if you ever have a chance to tackle the iHeart Radio Jingle Bell Ball version of Welcome to New York we'd both be beyond grateful. Thanks again!

I love taylor. She’s so talented and I’m glad that you gave credit where it’s due for her vocals and guitar playing skills. Guitar playing isn’t just about the chords a person uses, there’s so much more to it. She’s also a great lyricist, songwriter and she’s is so kind at heart. She definitely deserved the artist of the decade award in my opinion.
