Good gameplay, but I did notice that early on in your game, you did take advantage of the glitch in the Japanese set where if you put you hand on the top rail when you're climbing a ladder, barrels will not go down that ladder. In the US set, the barrel will come down on you more often than not. Besides that, I think the Japanese set is easier overall because of the different stage order in the levels. In the US set, you have to do the barrel level a lot more and the barrel level is by far the hardest.

If you're playing the US set, the stage order is as follows... 1: Barrel, Rivet 2: Barrel, Elevator, Rivet 3: Barrel, Cement, Elevator, Rivet 4+: Barrel, Cement, Barrel, Elevator, Rivet In theory, the US version gives more opportunities for high scores because it has you play the barrel and rivet stages-your best stages for earning points-more often relative to the others, and because it eventually includes five stages in every rotation rather than only four. However, the US set is harder for one reason: the Japanese set allows you to block barrels from going down a ladder Mario is on by positioning his hand at the top the platform above, whereas the US set doesn't. That same ladder exploit also works in the Famicom/NES port, which is based on the Japanese set but lacks the cement stage due to memory constraints in early Famicom cartridges.

Actually when you reach level 5. It goes: barrels cement factory barrels elevators barrels rivets. All the way thru level 21. The 1st board (barrels) on level 22 is the kill screen

On the elevator level, what you want to do if you want more points, you go to the purse on the right and stand on the step that's right next to it and leave just a lil room for the springs and then jump. And then you will get extra points 🙂 hope I helped someone (sorry if I didn't help, I'm not good at explaining things🙁)

In earlier rotations, grabbing the handbag is certainly worth the effort for its 800 points, yes. But in later rotations with the jacks and fireballs moving much faster, it's not worth the risk nor the time invested to grab the handbag and jump back. Both the cement and elevator stages eventually become races to the finish more than anything else.

You should do the sharp turn by the broken ladder by dk as soon as he releases the barrel to get it to roll down the ladder and get it when you have the hammer
@ToiletPunisher3810 жыл бұрын
I believe Steve Wiebe explained it a little during King of kong but if you watch, he picks up the hammer then does it to farm points.

there is no rice pudding in japan so it cant be a rice pudding.

It's just a joke since the cement pans look like pans of rice pudding. As for rice pudding not being in Japan, _Donkey Kong_ is set in New York.

For practice I use freekong.org on the computer, it's a Japanese set, but a lotta the stuff is different- the first screen is much easier, and all springs are the same in the elevator stage, and you can actually get extra lives every 30,000 points- unfortunately I don't have access to a nearby arcade cabinet, but it's fun to practice- oh, and there's no kill screen, it just keeps going- my high score is over 3 million :-)
