Its great that you are trying to develop solo mod for this game,but i think the best way to play solo is simply to control one marine and invaders,from that you simply do the best u can for both sides,works pretty well.And question why you didnt shuffle deck and draw a card for defending when deck was empty?

I agree that way can work, but the problem arises when you know what cards are in players hands, when your playing other players the fun is that you don’t know if they have a great set of attack cards or how they are going to act. I think that way can work fine I just wanted something that was tricky and relied on a bit luck to slow you down. Yeah that was my bad I forgot that I had to shuffle the deck and draw a defence card when my deck is empty. Nice job on finding that little error 😀

And the primary reason for these house rules seems to be that it speeds up the game since you don't have to make decisions choosing from up to 6 Invader Event Cards like an INvader player normally would in order to decide which ones to play for them. The separate smaller Event deck with the non-attack/defense ability cards s drawn when the Invader Initiative card is drawn makes it easier also. There's less strategy to this approach but it's less to think about for a quicker solo game. imho

Interesting. I 'll have to try it. So if you roll a blank on your attack chance dice then the Demons don't attack? When it comes time for them to attack again you roll the chance dice and it's possible they might roll a blank. In this video for example you never rolled a blank. How often have you rolled a blank in your games let's say out of 10 rolls on average? Maybe 3/10?

In the video no I never got a blank roll, before in testing I’d say it’s about 3 in every 10 I rolled maybe I was just unlucky 😂 Could possibly adjust it so for the demon rolls a red dice and the marine rolls a black the higher number wins? (As black has more successes then reds) Thanks for watching and looking into it hopefully can get it working better 😃

So I decided to give this a try after running into it by complete chance, and I noticed something. How do you handle effects like the Revenant's argent ability or Paranoid? Follow the Grim rule?

Yeah activate abilities as soon as you can for the enemies. Always follow the grim rule, make the choice that effects you the worst and follow that. So if you see a good card you need when using paranoid, don’t let yourself get it ;)

@@manaburngaming7968 Okay great, just wanted to make sure since I immediately ran into that with this first mission. Another question though, would demonic speed be considered an event card, since it's worded to be used at the start of an activation, or is it a card that has to be dropped like most of Armored Offensive? Just checking, since the main thing to making this mode harder on the event deck side of things is limiting the amount of "deadspace" in the deck that'll be taken out, and I'm torn between including Blood Rush and Savage Strength.

I think anything that makes it tougher could work, il have to try and add them myself (or put both in) to see if it still plays well. Just hard to get it running smoothly solo.

Other cards that seem like they could work unless you thought they were too situational or too much bookeeping? A 22 Card Deck Total incl yours above Demonic Strength x3 (+1 Red die vs Marine w no cover; 1 Defense) Ferocity x2 (1 additional attack but gets stunned card so maybe too much bookeeping; 0 Defense) Soul Harvest x2 (+2 Argent when any figure is fragged; 2 Defense), Execution x1 (demon moves into marine < 8 damage = marine fragged and +2 Argent; Dodge Defense) Death Curse x1 (when demon is fragged = marine 1 damage & stunned; Dodge Defense) Demonic Speed x2 (1 demon gets +3 speed; 2 Defense) INVADER INITIATIVE EVENT DECK You used Paranoia x1, Unbreakable x2 Darkness could be added (Marine attack range -2) REMOVED FROM GAME You removed Demonic Presence x2 (what does the big black blob on the demon’s back represent?), Iron Skin x1, Ambush x2 Others unaccounted for that should stay removed Dark Pact x1, Devious Schemes x2

That sounds good, adding the other cards in and making use of them was an idea I was toying with but I haven’t played Doom for a little while (had other games keep me occupied) Deffo going to try it again soon and add some of these cards in, I think it’s trail and error which will work and which won’t. What would you change about the solo marine card? Like make a custom one just for 1 player? Maybe 1 main action per turn or some restriction make it harder maybe?

I have to say that i cant hear what you are saying sometimes my man. You need to speak a bit more clearer at points like where you explain about the defence cards that has to be placed one side.
