Wow!!! Wonderful. If I had learned this lesson 50 years ago. I had a band in Colombia with friends, but our music was tropical. Once, some one asked us to play this one. We did only the riffs, but without singing…😂😂😂, that was a fiasco, but at least we tried to indulge her.👍😂

Yes, incredibly simple but so catchy, the riffs and strumming, John is indeed a genius. Thanks for lesson well explained, giving all respects to the great John!

Credence is one of my favorite American bands. John Fogerty wrote a song for everyone. Didn't know about the different riffs in that song, thanx Pilgrim Guitar.🙂🎸

I'd say 'welcome back' but in your new home/country........it's all a huge adjustment for the Pilgrim clan for sure!! I actually saw John Fogerty plan as a solo act in a relatively small venue some 30 years after his CCR heyday and all I kept thinking was how this dude remarkably never ages!! Ageless wonder!! Great having your weekly offerings back, Thom!! Jim C.

Terrific guitar lesson! I'm lousy at the guitar but I really think I might be able to pull this off. What I like best about this lesson, is that you give options to make it easier. You also give your advice as well as show how the easier chords actually sound. I'll play the tougher chords, which aren't too difficult. Thank you for posting! John Fogerty's music is so awesome!

I learned the “3 fingers after the barre” method from a chord book before I could even tune properly. I just knew it would come in handy down the road, er, down on the corner…

Great lesson as usual Thom! CCR was definitely one of my favorite bands of that era. The thing about those bands back then was that they performed the same live as what they recorded in the studio! Now that's real musical talent IMHO. Hope that you and your family are doing well!

3:46 a little correction, that's NOT John, its Tom Fogerty who's playing the guitar in that footage

Simple error at 3:45 the person playing is actually Tom Fogerty and Tom is backing vocalists

The clip he used showed Tom (from a mimed TV performance), but John likely played this riff on the record.

Somehow Creedence doesn't get the respect and adulation they deserve. Them and the Kinks slip right by the minds of most folks

To be fair, The thumb behind the guitar is ok if you play the guitar on your left leg in classical position .
