Please note the server box resets daily at 3:00am EST. This is to keep DCS and the server box running bug free. The entire box restarts. The mission resets every 4 hours but it will not yeet everyone at these 4 hour resets.

Loving the idea of the server, hopefully you might consider adding the A4 Skyhawk to the mix. I know it's a mod but it's free and at this point almost a fully fledged module that fits perfectly in the server setting. Keep up the awesome work!

We would love to add the A-4. The issue is that there is no way to apply version control to the mod. This means that anyone could install an older version of the mod and gain access to the slot and we could not do anything to control the FM.

Yes! This would get more people to join in on the fun and the A-4 fits in perfect if you ask me it's better than the A-10 with his mavericks for balance purposes. Eventhough I know the maverick missile is still cold war but it's pretty late isn't it, maybe they aren't allowed idk.

What sort of missions are you planning on for Helo pilots? I love flying the UH1/Mi8 but I've always felt the missions were kind of lackluster. I'd love to see some combat search and rescue for downed pilots, infantry/spec ops insertion, POW transport, and even just some basic material transport missions. Maybe integrate some sort of supply chain for certain weapons/forward/road bases that Helo's need to resupply? (maybe have an automatic trickle supply available if no helo pilots are flying, maybe even interceptable ground-convoys you can destroy?) Maybe have a pilot "lives" limit for certain aircraft that resets every week or something, similar to your limit on the F-14/Mig-29, but if you rescue a pilot with a Helo you can get the pilot life back instead of having to ground-pound constantly?

We are cranking out the road bases for airplanes first, so to cut down the flight times. Then we will take a pause to see what the user flows are like then we will go into helicopters. For helicopters, we will add logistical missions that does not include creating sam or AAA units. We have some ideas that we need to see what is feasible, such as black hawk down style attacks to capture enemy commanders, save shot down airliners and maybe establish observation posts in the mountains. For CSAR, no immediate plans but we will think on it.

I just hope we keep the VR players in the back of our minds :) I can imagine it is a constant struggle to find a balanced middle ground. I truely hope multicore is gonna improve the game a lot. The dcs content from your server always seems so exciting and cool, also the planes have so much character it's awesome. 4th gen jets are nice and bvr can be fun but the cold war jets like the fishbed are something different all together. You made me want to learn the mig-21 and as soon as i'm a bit proficient i'm coming on! :)

Landing with the fishbed is still abit tricky for me and knowing where to land and where to take off is something i'll have to learn. Maybe your server isn't a roleplay server where people get mad if you land the wrong way, that would be nice.

I've played on the server on a few occasions and I've always been a fan of Alpenwolf's CW server, but the server maps change and that doesn't allow for some people to play. I think what the server does really well is bring the community together and the ground targets are great, but the balance in the air is not very strong in my opinion. When you bring Fulcrums and Tomcats into the fight with modern 80s missiles like the AIM-7MH and the R-27(NonER) it really changes the fight too much unless they have some sort of major restriction. In my opinion they should be removed from the server altogether and missiles should be kept to rear aspect only, but since this server is more like a Growling Sidewinder cold war server, I can see the choice to stick with all aspect missiles. Air to ground is perfect, but I think the ground is far too saturated to see the frontlines move very much. If possible, please add a tactical commander slot for anyone with combined arms to launch a fight on the ground. This would be perfect for helicopter players who want to strategically place some kind of air or ground defense. All in all the server is perfect, but having Senaki and Kutaisi so close to each other is a poor choice with lots of players that are flying MiG-21s and F-5s. The server could really use some spacing and some flight time which is doable, but it gives more work to you. All of the things I've suggested here are all from me, and other players that have flown on the server and I've heard their suggestions. If you could either remove the fulcrums and tomcats or severely limit them, much appreciated! It simply isn't a good experience for a Tomcat to have an AIM-7MH and 6 of them, AIM-7Fs in limited supply would be preferred! Perhaps when the MIG-23 and Mirage F1 are added, things can change to meet accordingly to those strong aircraft. Overall, the server is great, and keep things changing! -Me, and the 18th Sparrow's suggestions.

F-14 and MiG-29 have been removed as of yesterday, they will only return once the point limiting system has been implemented. And we will probably lock the latest sparrows out of the F-14.

Check these boxes in MiG-21bis Special options. Client and Serverside: Realistic ASP IR A-A Missile Reticle Experimental Features (Realistic RWR) Also note that the MiG-19P RWR needs to be mounted in the Mission Editor. Other than that, this looks like a great and fun mission!

Mig-29 and F-14 are the ONLY things restricted behind campaign points. Campaign points are going to just be killing ground targets. This is to make sure that people don't just spam fighters and never bomb aka take part in the actual campaign.

The server is effectively the IL-2 Finnish server idea but in DCS so I think it's a bit of a copy or the base concept is. The concept is very much influenced a lot from IL-2. With that said, we have a lot more flexibility in DCS than the IL-2 engine so we will begin to iterate in our own way and make the server special. I just want to mention this specifically because I love the Finnish server and was heavily inspired to bring that concept to DCS.

Hi, i played on server for a while as UH1 and its complete useless atm due to lack of bluefor attack helos and attack capabilty of hueys and gazelles Bluefor is very weak on helicopters. Maybe you can add some infantry bases,some soft unarmored targets or convoys so Bluefor heli players can be useful for the team. Also i suggest slingloading tasks for helis to repair strategic targets or frontline outposts.

Great server! I had a lot of fun the yesterday. The road bases will be a nice addition. Flying out of tiblisi on the red side takes awhile. Also is there any possibility to see some props for ground pounding? Looking forward to the mission idea as well. Ground missions would be a lot of fun.

​@@Enigma89 The P-51 was used quite a bit for counter-insurgency up until the 1970s around the world and it has a close loadout to the F-86. It's slower but then again the A-10 is pretty slow too and there's helicopters. None of the other props would be appropriate to the time period. The problem is how to balance it on the "red team" like the F-86 and Mig-15 are for example. Best for balance to leave it out for now.

@@Enigma89 When any player is shot down, a soldier object is spawned and placed at the location of the shoot down. These soldiers broadcast ADF frequencies that you can tune to and get a sporadic bearing which helps guide you in. When you get close enough, they will announce over message that they hear you and will pop smoke. Colored smoke then spawns from their location further aiding you for a pick up. You can either hover over the soldier for a set amount of time (this is necessary in areas where landing is impossible like forests, extreme slopes, or the ocean) or you can land close to them and they board your aircraft. They don't physically move, they just disappear and you get a message that they are safely on board. You then have to fly them to a FARP or airbase for the rescue to be considered complete. It is possible to pick up multiple downed air crew in one sortie and drop them all off collectively at a safe location. In TTI there is no other influence on the player if they are rescued or not but it absolutely is a lot of fun if you're into flying utility helicopters like the Huey or Hip because it's a dynamic experience. You ask yourself, how did this pilot get shot down? Was it enemy aircraft, should I be extra wary about that? How will I ingress assuming threat aircraft are probably still active in the area? Was it ground fire? How will I get to this person if there are AA sites near by? Is this pilot on a high mountain top? Will I be light enough to over come the negative strain on the engine while trying to hover at high altitude? All these kinds of things make it fun for a utility pilot. I've done rescues that are 50-90NM away and I'm absolutely not the only person that does stuff like that. TTI isn't truly dynamic so it makes for longer flight times but your server has a shifting front line of focus so CSAR possibly wouldn't have go very far to pick folks up unless you want to go after the guys that were downed attempting a deep strike against enemy factories. I have a video on my channel called Mountain CSAR or something like that and it just casually shows what that looks like if you wanted to see how the pick ups are actually conducted. That was a 70nm+ sortie getting down to the last minute before a server reset. Anyways, GREAT SERVER! I just tried it out and it's been good not having to worry about getting spamraamed from 20-30nm out. I cant wait for more cold war aircraft to hit the DCS stable. I really think that era makes for the most exciting combat where people aren't managing systems so much and aircraft aren't so technologically disproportionate against each other.

We restart the server every 4 hours in order to clean up a lot of the clutter on the map. We save the frontline location and just continue on. WHen we restart the map we will change the time of day to make sure its not total pitch dark for 4 hours straight.

My first and to date only experience on the server was not great tbh. Nothing to do with the server itself, just some of the players. Not going into detail suffice to say l left the server as opposed to getting shot down by them, dont know what l did/ didnt do.
