When you said “fire” a dragon I thought it meant fired, like “give the pink slip to”, “let go”, “terminate”.

Yeah. I gave that feedback also, and it was changed to fire up a dragon, but it might have slipped through my own censor a few times in this video

After watching this play-through, I'm curious if you think the board would be more manageable with the shops in a 4x3 grid in the center of the board, point scoring track on one end and cards and resources and such on the other? Exact same board size, just different arrangements of the game elements on that board.
@HungryGamerReviews3 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely fold the board over and just use the points tracker and arrange the shops in a more compact way. Whether or not that is better, is prob gonna vary by person
@rossglenn76003 жыл бұрын
@@HungryGamerReviews Fair. It's just that game designers who put the score tracker in the middle of the board drive me nuts. Design-wise, the center of your board is where you want your players's eyes most of the time. Most game designers get this but a few do not.

Is there a limit of how many shops there can be different on player count? Would all shops be present by the end of the longer game?

There is not a limit, other than board space. I have almost always found the end game trigger to be from the dragon deck emptying

I noticed the ks page stated 2-5 players. Do you know if there will be a solo variant? (Stretch goal maybe?) Thanks!
@HungryGamerReviews3 жыл бұрын
i do not know for certain. I know that many backers have asked for it and it is something that they are considering. The key is that they do not want to release a solo mode that is not up to snuff. They are not willing to just have one that is "tacked on". So I am sure if they think they can do it in a way that is fun they will. Whether or not it will actually happen...I have no idea!

@@HungryGamerReviews definitely possible to make a good solo variant. Just need the right people/person. (Keith Matejka is really good. Or the Automa Factory).

@@HungryGamerReviews: Truth: I looked over the Campaign. $39 for the game is not bad. Except, that is uses meeples. (What is it with Europe and meeples?) $79 for the minis version and well worth it for all the extras. However, I cannot think who I would play this with. There is no solo mode. And it's not really my style of game. (Resource management.) So, *probably not.* (I might buy it as a gift, I have 3 weeks to think about it.)

:/ im pretty concerned about the rules. It's very cute but it feels like a case of "complicated and stuffed full of rules in the name of complicated". I dont mind complex, I love 4x games like Eclipse, but I'm not sure how well all of this coheres into an actual smooth and enjoyable experience. Im gonna back so I can get a plush of loaf (because duh who doesn't want a cute bread dragon) but otherwise i think im gonna give the actual boardgame one a miss until I can try it in person. :/
@HungryGamerReviews3 жыл бұрын
Can't say I agree. When I taught this in person it took 20 min to teach, and an hour to 90 min to play. But if the rules dont click for you they don't.
@dan21243 жыл бұрын
@@HungryGamerReviews it's not so much the rules clicking or not, they're perfectly understandable. It's whether the layers of complexity actually work well together towards a more enjoyable experience instead of extra layers for extra layers sake, which is what concerns me.
@HungryGamerReviews3 жыл бұрын
@@dan2124 I see. Well in that case, I just don't see what you're seeing. I do not find anything complex about this game. I would hesitate to say many layers as well. I had some criticisms of the game in my preview, but rules fiddliness or rules bloat is not one of them. Doesn't mean you won't find it to be true, but it was not something that I even thought could be an issue. Anyhow thanks for enlightening me to your thoughts. Perhaps sign up for one of the digital demos?
@pvaughan0073 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan! You should try the game during the Kickstarter! There's a tons of players diving in and trying it out and discovering that the rules are not complicated for the sake of complexity and rather that the game levels up with you (in our opinion). Happy to show you online!
