"And even if you miss that last tackle, they don't give a fuck" 😂😂 pretty much sums up 3rd XV rugby

Haha that's it bro, I wasn't talking about top rugby that's for sure.

The problem with all the swearing is that it won't be seen on restricted mode and is not recommended to age grade kids who want to learn about positions.

Hey this is awesome advice for a person that’s switched to fullback or someone that wants to play fullback like me thanks man

Nice video m8. I'm 17 and been playing fullback for 3 years now. Wish this could have been uploaded when I started playing. I need to say that having nice hands is very important as well as some speed and intangibles
@JacobMcDonald278 жыл бұрын
Hey man thanks for watching! Sorry I couldn't bring the video out sooner haha but glad you got something out of it. A good pair of hands is vital you're right. Even then, one pass at the back and you can be the hero or the villain in a second :)

@orlando3ish7 жыл бұрын
this is great i would love to see something more based on the defensive side of being a fullback and positioning if possible
@wpracy6 жыл бұрын
Positioning is also vital. Staying in line with the ball carrier makes it a lot easier for when they do break the defensive line, so you won’t be sprinting across the pitch to make tackles

It's an obvious position you can learn from just watching a match just call for the ball, run and/or pass

I've enjoyed your videos, especially your reactions to American football. As a Yank who knows little to nothing about your game, it's fascinating. I took the time to watch All Blacks versus Ireland (Erin go bragh - my distant cousins won). The more I watch, the more I am coming to understand what our game first looked like. The American version of the game closely resembled Rugby Union in its infancy. In fact, our scoring vocabulary took its name from rules in rugby - touchdown... as in the player was required to TOUCH the ball DOWN to the ground after crossing the goal line. Obviously, players simply need to break the vertical plane of the goal line and are no longer required to ground the ball. The verbiage, however, remains. Your game has a limited following here and live matches are difficult to find. But you've made a budding enthusiast out of me.

Hey man, awesome to hear! Makes me so happy to hear that I've made a budding enthusiast out of you XD I feel there is room for both of our sports here on my channel and I will continue to merge them in any way I can. So epic that I am connecting with like minded people, on the other side of the pacific. Thanks for reaching out again and plenty more content to come.

Jacob McDonald If you're interested in seeing a style of offensive attack that more closely rugby, I suggest you watch videos of the American service academies' football teams. In our vernacular, it's called the triple option. The play starts with the quarterback, as nearly all plays do. His first option is to hand the ball to a back running directly upfield. His second option is to run parallel to the line of scrimmage with an aim to isolating a single defender with a second offensive back trailing him. If the isolated defender moves to tackle the quarterback, he may then pass the ball laterally or behind himself to the trailing back. In the modern game, it's considered to be an outdated style of play. But it is lethal when well executed. The timing and discipline it requires also work well with players who are used to military culture. The University of Nebraska used the triple option to devastating effect in the 1990's, when they won three national collegiate championships in four years. The video may be grainy, but highlight films of the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers are worth a look. Most students of the college game acknowledge that team as the greatest ever in the college game.

That DOES sound like a similar looking move to rugby! :D That's awesome, I'm trying to imagine it now lol. I have seen a couple of really small passes in some of the highlight videos I have been watching, kind of like what you are describing. Maybe they were using the triple option and gave it to the trailing back who then sliced through the gap that opened. Epic stuff mate, thanks for sharing. I'll have a look :)

If your team has the ball then you join the other backs.

That freaks me out playing fullback and I'm kind of alright at attack but when defence comes that's when I start to thinking but I really really hate it when they chip and chase over me and I really hate it when they try and bump me off but it funny cause I tackle the strong one not the fast ones so yeah I'm kind of improving I think?

i have been pretty confused about this rule. So if im full back and in my own 22 if i kick it straight into touch is it then my line out or the opponents?
@JacobMcDonald273 жыл бұрын
The opponents line out, but if you kick it out on the full whilst outside of your own 22, then the lineout is brought back to the point of the kick. So, best to kick out on the full if inside own 22, but if outside own 22, make sure to have it bounce in field of play before going out
