You have, I think, the best lessons for songs on KZbin. First, you try to be exact which is nice. But you also go slow, explain and show multiple times with your standard black background and a sharp focus on the playing. You play full speed, then note/chord by note/chord slowly explaining the fingering and picking. Although I am an intermediate guitarist and struggle with some of the songs you put on here, I can now play so many pretty spot on. I just want to say thank you!

@SiatkazBiedronki10 ай бұрын
@@Nobody_Important_YeaThey do somehow overlook him when talking about the virtuosos, it’s always Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Stevie Ray, etc. But I think apart from Hendrix no one comes close to the cool vibe of Keith. Who cares about this shit anyway, those ratings don’t even care to mention Delta bluesmen or whole other bunch of genius guitarists just because they are not mainstream. Or women, for that matter.

Well, listen to Martin Barre's solo on "we used to know" and Aqualung from Jethro Tull could change your mind about Keith's statement. Additionally, Keith has never been a solo guitarist, he made amazing riffs but that's it. Jimmy Page, Angus Young, David Gilmour, Martin Barre, Robbie Krieger, Brian May. They can do everything.

Great tutorial. Thank you. For those learning this, be prepared for a very sore wrist until you've built up the stamina. Light strings would probably help as would low action. I'm currently using 10s. Gonna switch to 9s or even 8s when they wear out. To lower the action and tension I've tuned down two steps and barred the second fret. Then I start it at the 11th fret. A Gibson style neck would probably be easier too. I'm playing it on a Strat. My Gibson is tuned to open G for more Keith songs and my other electric is in standard tuning. It would suck have to change tuning all of the time on just one guitar. The tremolo is also part of what makes this riff great.

I think this is the pinnacle rock song. I don't think there's a better song in all rock music than _Gimme Shelter._ It has a kind of perfect-moment-in-time quality to it like a 1964 Ford Mustang Fastback or _Casablanca_ or Robert E. Howard's Conan stories or _Miami Vice._ It's not just "really good," it has something more, an X factor that can't be predicted or accounted for or reproduced or quantified. It's ineffable, unexplainable. Everything came together to somehow elevate it above the rest. Thanks for this lesson.
