When I play the C and then add register, why is it squeaking so much? Also, after I remove the register key, why is the high sound still lingering?

The "wiggle test" for your "band face" is a great way to encourage biting. That makes me "frowny face" about the choked sound that will develop.

Thank you, this helped a lot. I played the clarinet when I was younger and got a destination In my grade 1 when I was in year 5 at school. But I was forced to quit lessons in year 8. I have recently taken it up again now I'm nearing the end of year 11 and most of it came back like ridding a bike but one thing I lost was my ability to play high notes I had completely forgot how to play it but this video has reminded me thank you so much

Make sure all your holes and register keys are all covered / pushed down and please keep practicing , if you want some inspiration last year I was the worst clarinet always squeaking but now I'm one of the very best in band ((: and always hit those high notes with barely any effort

Hey how do you play high notes really fast? I'm 1st clarinet in Celtic ritual and at one point we go up to D (the really high one) at a really fast tempo. I can play g and above nicely but when I play then really fast I squeak. I use a Yamaha btw and I've been playing for 4-5 years

Ben Nickoloff Depends if we I'll tell you 2 high C' s. Highest of the 2: Press the register key and the key begginers know as the F key. 2nd C: Register key, "F key", E, D, C, Bb, A, G and finally the F# (I think I don't have my clarinet right now but it's the lower one to the left) I hope this helped.

Senpai Chan The Almighty Press on the keys really hard to the point they make little holes on your fingers. This helps build muscle memory. (Hint: don't press down too hard to the point where your Clarinet breaks or can't feel your fingers.)
