Hey man, I appreciate that very much! If I had a desert Island mix tape with only 20 songs on it or so, this one would be on it. I love this song.

The guitar work is more intricate than I realized. I look forward to learning this one Kelly. Again, thank you sir!@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar

The Major scale is a joyful melody. E major = energy and passion. Thanks for sharing this tune. Very cool of you to do that.

Hi Kelly, a huge part of that complex guitar sound should also be attributed to Bruce Watson. The bands' guitar sound was almost always a combination of Adamson and Watson. Great cover BTW.

Great rendition - so much more going on in the song above the catchy melodies. Loved this song back in the 80's, never knew why they didn't make it big, they were starting out the same time as U2.

Their first two records are better than anything U2 has ever done.

Thank you, thank you! There were no *good* tutorials on this song. This is awesome. BC was the first post punk/alt band I liked. At the time, I was 100% punk rock. They opened a big door for me. Stuart was the man. I went to Scotland last year and took a mini pilgrimage to Dunfermline to pay my repects. Dios mio, you made me very happy with this!

I think that tune all blew us away at the time. Still a great tune of course. They just couldn’t follow it up sadly I suppose. Great likes on this one Kelly! Great job bro!

Their first album was stellar top to bottom, like a greatest hits, second album (my favorite) same story, 3rd great too. EP with Angle Park and The Crossing (both killer tunes). Not a one hit wonder as many think.

Hi Kelly, im judt curious how you picked up the part at 8:17. To me it doesn't sound right, to me. It seems like it should go down and not up. Im no music expert, so im not sure. I've listened to the original and just cant pick up the part you played. Ive heard another tutorial and it sounds closer. Again, im not sure but I do appreciate your lesson. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5_Oe61jrK56j7Msi=o3fDs8-lyhgra6IK at the 1:01 mark.

The guitars are quite muddled and slightly buried in the mix at that point. Really difficult to hear exactly what they're doing. I picked it apart the best I could with something that sounded close and worked.
@marshallheadkt662 ай бұрын
That’s my clip you referenced. I play that main lick (which Bruce covers) the way it’s done live, but on the original studio cut there’s a harmony guitar on there too, hence why it can be difficult to pick out the exact lick.
@KellyDeanAllenGuitar2 ай бұрын
@@marshallheadkt66 yep. There's numerous layered guitars going on here.

Hmmm, I was wondering how to play the chord arpeggio at the very introduction to the song, but you seem to have skipped that bit. For me, this is the real hook. I have never heard a song intro like it...

It's there mate. I covered it. I just showed the melody line first before digging into the rhythm parts.

Worst tutorial ever. So quick. I haven't even had time to think before it's the next thing. I kept thinking I'm gunna switch this off, it's bullshit. But ur voice scrambles the brain?. Couldn't even do that. So unfortunately, I listen to the whole thing. But more like a deer in a head light

I read that they used an old mxr rack delay to help with the bagpipes guitar tones.
