You are one of the most music professor that teaches me to clearly understand the structure of the jazz and bebop music. Now I could think right after I watched this video, I could play and improving yazz and bebop music. Much appreciated you!

Concept of enclosures has always eluded me but now you have demistified it. Often got lost by confusing it with the concept of neighbouring tones but didnt know how to apply it. Thanks for the video

Great video - I've always wondered how to get that sound that you describe using the enclosure. It sounds so much more 'bebop' than landing on a note using a linear sequence of notes. Up until now, I never even knew how to pose the question to a teacher to get that sound. Thanks!

That enclosure at the end reminds me of Louie Armstrong singing "Do Nothing 'til You Hear from Me"

Excellent..I first studied before watching. Really 👍 great presentation. Noticed that this starts out with a 1 7 3 6 2. F E-7b5 A7 D-7..

Not sure if you are still getting comment alerts, but I am having trouble parsing out when the first note in the pattern is a whole step above target and when a half step. I thought diatonic to the temporary key, but that doesn't seem right.

Great videos- but please show tabs! Guitar players can't read music

GREAT.. thanks. Can I ask you how you achieve that great tone? Are you using a stomp of some kind; fractal or anything else that I can grab? Can't thank you enough! Ken, NY
@Learnjazzstandards3 жыл бұрын
Of course you can! First gear wise I’m using and AER amp plugged direct into my audio interface. But you’re also getting an acoustic sound from my overhead mic that’s recording my voice. Strings are D’Addario 13’s. Wood bridge ads some warmth. But everything else is just the way you play. A lot of tone is in your attack and subtle ways of playing that are unique to you

@@Learnjazzstandards Thank you sir....so any 'effects' or mod (reverb, sustain, etc) is not a stomp box or fractal unit of any kind....just computer-based software (pro tools, etc)? Ken

@@kennyfrank2901 nope that’s just reverb coming straight from my amp

Not "any" instrument. "Almost any" instrument. It will be nice if you mentioned something about drums and what is that you'll wait for the drummer.. Thankyou for the lessons.
