One little note about this : during the turnaround, there is no walkdown through V, IV, I. Chuck hangs on the V for an extra bar and then jumps right back down to the I. This is probably the one thing that so many people get wrong about most of Chuck Berry's songs, but for those of us who know his stuff, this is one of Chuck's signature things.

The “one bar of IV” at 12:23 isn’t there. It hangs on the V for bar 10, then back to the I for bars 11 and 12. edit: it is in the intro, but not the rest of the tune. I was listening to the verse when I typed that, and noticed the IV in the intro afterward. My mistake.

So i open my KZbin and click subscriptions. I browse the images for updated videos. I see big red background, and big white letters (normal Guitar Control image, as i am a subscriber to G.C.). then i see caption says Guitar Control but the person on the image looked amazingly like Sean Daniel ( which i am subscribed to his channel also). When i actually start watching the video i was surprised. Great lesson and glad to see you on Guitar Control.

@miguelurdaci78847 жыл бұрын
to play with the brasses
@pyannaguy7 жыл бұрын
When Chuck was breaking out, lots of influence was from horns, and horn playing bandleaders. Hence lots of songs were in Bb, which puts a tenor sax or trumpet player in C (those are called Bb instruments).
@paulgordon69493 жыл бұрын
@@miguelurdaci7884 I know that chuck was known for his womanising back in the day, but I don't think he changed the key of this song just to appease some of his hookers. But I could be mistaken, maybe it mentions it in his autobiography.

@ck2music712 Жыл бұрын
I KNOW it's a LOT more work, but you might wanna consider muting your room mic/mics when you're playing... That or the two audio sources are just SLIGHTLY out of sync, resulting in that "doubling" effect on your guitar sound... It makes it a LOT harder to tell what you're actually playing, and it's kinda distracting... GREAT video AND lesson otherwise! All the best from "The Budget King"!
