Thanks for the video. I can solve the small slam from A to G up to level 5 on each letter without assistance but I am really struggling to solve levels 6 to 8 for each letter. Sure, I can look on the internet and get the solution but that isn't really what I am looking for. What I would love to know is, is there a set of fundamental principles which can be used to approach the solving of any given penta? I would love to be able to use logic and not just fumble around until I come across the solution purely by chance! I would appreciate it immensely if someone could point me in the right direction please.

thanks for your comment, I really have no idea how to solve this puzzle by logic or are there fundamental principles to approach the solution, I use the "keep trying" until i reach it

There is an indie game called Pentapuzzle, which uses Katamino shapes. There are special levels that make non rectangular shapes as the final result. Would it be unusual to ask for a guide for those?
