I rarely if ever have commented on KZbin or other media platform but felt compelled to do so in this case. I have been playing guitar on and off for almost 40 years (took lessons for several years as a teenager) and must say that you are a godsend. The manner in which you provide instruction is the best I have seen (and there are a lot of good tutorials out there). You simplify a song that sounds complex by breaking down the components of the song, chord structure, strumming patterns, finger placement etc.. to the point where someone with any remedial guitar knowledge can quickly sound like they've been playing the song for years. It has revitalized my interest in guitar and I am increasing my campfire catalogue at an astonishing rate ....it helps that your song choices are great as well. Wish you were my guitar teacher back in the day! Thanks for these videos Shane and keep them coming!

Thank you. For the love of god a tutorial that starts off with the song, doesn’t spend 5 mins promoting himself and begging to subscribe and gets right to it. Then slowly and fastly walks you through the tutorial. Also great two camera shoot and lavaliere mic sound.

Brand new to guitar playing and I've been practicing this for several weeks now. The way you break it down slowly is very helpful. Can't wait until I can turn up the tempo and make it sound like TP!!

Great lesson! That Am7 chord is tricky for me because my pinky finger is struggling to stay on the high E string. Also, here's a great live video of Tom Petty playing the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoSYlmqZZ8SMhZo

Thank you brand73 - much appreciated! Make sure your left hand thumb stays nice and low...that'll help you stretch that pinky. I love that live video - thanks! Shane

What BBMini2 setting would you use on Wildflowers by TP? It is not on their song matching tool.

The Blues 2 pattern might be a good one. Just a nice light rimshot on the snare. Cheers, Shane

Can't you tune the thinner E to G and remove the whole pinky finger thing? It will still sound similar right?
