Another Legionary guide? I love it :D Keep them comming :D

I beat the much vaunted Nemesis Claw with Legionaries with Mark of Nurge in a game of ITD. They were quite surprised

Do you have to call the mark on the chaos talisman every round or when you select it as an equipment?

Definitely gotta get another box of Legionaries now.

Also, I didn’t read the inquisition as ignoring the piercing degradation with that ploy as it’s not a modifier, your model just ignores 1 grade of piercing. Ignoring doesn’t seem like modification to me.

49:40 Do you start the game with 3 CP though? In the card pack, it says every player gains 2 CP and the start of the game. And in the ready step at page 37 of the core rules, you only generate CP in TPs after the first.
@cygnusereve47792 ай бұрын
I haven't read the core rules yet. I know that one of the Legionary units (icon bearer) gives 1 CP at the start of the ready step or something. Not sure if this is considered generating CP.

Page 37: "Each player gains 1 Command Point" The following sentence that refers to the initiative loser gaining 2CP is the only part relying on TPs after the first
@SebTheFatCat2 ай бұрын
there is a period in between saying to gain 1 cp and "for every turning point after the first", so yes you would get 2 cp when you select your operatives and 1 cp for the strategy phase of the first turn (so 3 CP for the first turn)

Except Eldar and angels of death “talisman” is only useable once per tp, not once for every operative per tp… insane

I hope the popularity of Legionaries keeps this faction evergreen. At the moment they become de-classified and dropped from GW competition play in a year's time. *sad face*

Unpopular opinion. Elite Kill Teams are boring and bad for the game.

I am not sure making such guides makes sense right now There's a crapton of changes introduced at once with this edition and any semblance of balance is in tatters. The game's landscape will be very different after the first wave of erratas and patches and such guides will be quite outdated in 3 months (hopefully, really!). Those are guides for a test beta version with a very short life expectancy in my opinion.

I am not sure making such comments makes sense right now… Folks are scrambling trying to get an idea of what’s going on with new changes. Here’s a helpful little push in the right direction for those that want to hear from some seasoned legionary players in the know.

@@battlebrotherstabletop I just believe all this advice will be outdated very soon and its validity is counted in weeks. It makes more sense to provide such advice once the game settles after first waves of patches. "Opinions after a small tournament here in Poland (18 players) : First and foremost - we highly recommend such clown fiesta to everyone. Not only the game is not even close to be balanced, but learning on the job is like testing things in production: anything can happen. We had 18 players and been playing with open terrains, Volkus and Into the Dark. - Nemesis Claw x4 - Legionaires x3 - Inquisitorial Agents x2 - Hierotek Circle x2 - Warpcoven x2 - Farstalker Kinband - Heartkyn Yaegirs - Elucidian Starstriders - Scout Squad - Angels of Death Top 8 consisted of: 1. Inquisitorial Agents 2. Nemesis Claw 3. Hierotek Circle 4. Warpcoven 5. Inquisitorial Agents 6. Legionaires 7. Farstalker Kinband 8. Elucidian Starstriders Except for the Kroot, other teams are hardly a surprise, with Inquisition being totally busted due to their flexibility and prison type of gameplay, Legionary with bonkers strong ploys and absurd amount of CP to use every single one of them all the time, Nemesis Claw being an elite slaying team, Hierotek Circle with their amplified alpha strike and reanimation potential, Warpcoven having super resilient Rubrics and Starstriders with very powerful shooting. New Into the Dark layouts are also a bit questionable as they are super open and have a weird feel to them. However, this would require more hands on experience to see whether this is a challenge or an advantage. Putting the lack of balance aside, the gameplay, once you get used to new rules, is much more "user friendly". Simplified and more intuitive rules are a noticeable improvement compared to previous edition. We just really hope GW will tone down the most broken teams, so the metagame would be more diverse." Basically it's one big beta version, anything said about it has a fair chance of being invalidated in a few weeks if not days (if there are particularly nasty offenders to balance)

100% these guys are going to get super nerfed. I am sure ALL elite teams will have to go down to 5 models, all elite teams are so busted that they are unfun to play (my main teams are legionary and warpcoven so I'm not salty just pissed at GW for failing to balance the teams again).
@Adunapheth2 ай бұрын
Legionaires and warpcoven are so incredibly broken it's not even funny, not so sure about the rest of marine teams. Those two are going to get hit with a nerf in the future for sure.
