Thank you so much....got to meet him and shake his hand back stage after his concert, May 26th in Cerritos, CA, in 1997, five months before his fateful accident. His music led me from my birth state of Ohio 41 years ago, to make my home high in the Rocky Mountains outside of Boise, Idaho......you could say his music really moved me....

I havent heard of this “John” (im younger and lives in a subcontinent) so makes sense :D When i first heard Take me home by him in a movie? I asked myself who is this guy, the rest is history. From that day on he was my all time favourite! Legendary has its own definition when it meets JD!!!

Wonderful demonstration. Clear explanations. I've been playing guitar on and off for 50+ years. My progress in developing my guitar skills was stunted when I discovered the joy of singing. I became content with strumming appropriate chords and singing. I recently purchased a Martin D-18 and I'm struggling to learn fingerpicking and studying John Denver technique. Your excellent video popped up as my first choice when I searched on KZbin. At 72, I'm rediscovering guitar and it is bringing me endless joy. Thanks for your excellent video.

Thanx. I met John Denver at a concert he gave at San Houston University in Huntsville, Texas in 1972. I volunteered to usher at the concert and visited with him afterward. Got an autograph I had promised a girl. It was just him, a bass player and another acoustic guitar player. Great concert.

Thanks. Listening to John Denver is one of the reasons I decided to learn guitar. As you noted he had a very clean style of playing. Nothing overly fancy, very melodic. Easy to see what he was doing. Easy to follow. Your explanations and demonstration finally filled in knowledge gaps that I worked around instead of working through. Thanks!

Thank you for featuring my favorite artist. I’ve been playing guitar for 37 years and it was John Denver, specifically Rocky Mountain ⛰ High that inspired me to play. Great choice of songs too!

This was so beautiful to watch…I think people forget how simplicity with instruments can make lyrics and vocals that much more special ❤️

One of his most complicated accompaniments that I can think of is Darcy Farrow. His playing in the background while singing that was like playing lead guitar at the same time.

It took a long time for the idea to come to me, that I could play Rocky Mountain High in the key of E by tuning the low E string to dropped D, then placing a capo at the 2nd fret & fingering as if playing in the key of D. Prior to that idea, I was trying to play in standard tuning & was really working hard just to always be coming up short. I'm probably one of the last players on earth to have figured that out, lol.

Do you by any chance had a complete guitar tutorial of some of John Denver's song. What I saw here was a teaser and I am hooked for good. Truly loved his songs. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Thank You so much for this instruction Jeffery. If I may ask you, there are many other songs from John Denver I would love to play in his style. Is there any way you could make another video in this same format? It would be such a great gift to the many people like me that want to improve our playing ability and find direction from someone who knows what they are teaching and talking about? Once agin, Thank You so much!

I was hoping you would teach the intro of jet plane from the greatest hits album. Can you still do that?
@Billsingsong9 ай бұрын
That intro a little different than what I’m used to. I like the intro. The iconic intro that people recognize right away off his Greatest Hits album. Anyway, you can teach that intro?

Could you please teach the intro from the greatest hits album slowly your intro doesn’t quite sound like the intro from the greatest hits even though John Denver used a 12th St. got those high notes. Your intro from the greatest hits album because he did it elsewhere.
