As one that plays Makoa alot, I would like to add a few things: Pluck legendary is pretty viable in tdm since u are going for kills. Half shell legendary card can be very viable and at times better than leviathan with a good loadout focused on reduced cooldown and longer uptimes for the shield in a gamemode where u go up vs no tank and only dmgs (avg casual game, in ranked leviathan is ofc the best as you said). Also half shell makes it easier to hook players off the map with the shield protecting you. With leviathan I would also recommend moral boost if you can hit most of your shots, it will load your ult so much faster, that you can often in ranked use it to finnish off the push and might be able to load it fast enough to ult again at the next capture. great guide, looking forward to next video :)

A very well thoughtout guide, well done. The pacing into too fast and you explain everything in such a wonderful manner. I also really enjou how you show us demonstrations in training mode so we can grasp a better understanding of the movesets. If there is one thing i could recommend adding is how the champion can deal with their weakness though this is just a suggestion so you do not have to put this in your video. Though as it is now its already really good, I hope you can continue this level of quality in future guides.
@CreevesPaladinsGuides6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Really nice to have these kind of comments. I think that's wonderful suggestion, I am thinking of including a new section in future guides on the subject of how to counter the champion and now, I will also try and add your section in to that too! Thanks again!

Nice guide, but can you explain why you use nimble instead of morale boost? As you say the only 2 ults in the game that can stop you when you are ulting is pip’s ult and drogoz’s ult. And with makoa’s slow ult rate, why would you not boost your ultimate charge? Ps: i sent you a friend request, my name is MrTimMan
@CreevesPaladinsGuides5 жыл бұрын
Hi - so there's a couple of reasons for this. Makoa, being a tank and due to his individual ult charge speed, gets his ultimate very slowly. Being a very powerful ultimate, you almost always want to have the ultimate up for a point fight, therefore you can only really get his ultimate out safely, and perhaps a second time on the push, you can't safely spam his ultimate out near the end of a round. So morale is quite inconsistent. Nimble on the other hand gives you a benefit all the time, which helps you to secure kills and reposition. This guide was made before you could buy two of the same item, so theoretically now you can buy both items depending on the situation, hopefully I explained this okay. Will accept when next on :D

That's a well constructed guide, but as a Makoa player I'll have to disagree on a few things: 1. Half Shell is actually really good against things like blasters and especially good in map with lots of chokepoints like Splitstone Quarry. You basically deny an entire area from taking damage while you can still be active yourself. Of course, Leviathan is still the safest pick. 2. The shell spin heal card is pretty much just a gimmick. I wouldn't run it at all since it encourages you to hit enemies with your escape when you're low, meaning you wouldn't be able to retreat afterwards. Plus, cauterize exists. If you want self sustain on Makoa, his heal on Shield card is much more reliable. 3. Morale Boost and Chronos are both viable options on Makoa. MB allows him to be able to ult both to secure a push AND a point. Plus, it gives the player more room for mistakes meaning he won't get punished as much for misusing his ult. As for Chronos, Makoa has pretty long cooldowns so it works well. But it works better on Half Shell, since it synchronizes with your Shield spamming strategy. If an enemy destroys your shield with the CD card maxed out, it goes from 16s>6s to 16s>2s with Chronos 3. So i'd rather go MB with Leviathan or Chronos with HS instead of Nimble, which is still a decent pickup. Other than that, I agree with what you said. Keep up the good work!
@CreevesPaladinsGuides6 жыл бұрын
Hey! I do agree with pretty much everything you said. I do think Morale Boost is powerful, but it's more of a gamble and depends on whether your team are reliably capturing etc. If you're team is *nearly* pushing it every time, I think it's a great pick. BTW, I think I've seen you in quite a few games haha!

@CreevesPaladinsGuides6 жыл бұрын
Sure, as the wait for the guide might be a while I would suggest importing a loadout from me and try him out. Basically you're gonna want to place a rune down in a safe place and dive into the enemy backline - overcharging while strafing against opponents, when you are low/damage is incoming, just teleport back. Rinse and repeat. Because of his high damage output, he is great at taking out tanks and other high health opponents quickly.

@CreevesPaladinsGuides6 жыл бұрын
Haha sounds annoying - but do you meant he old Davey Jones? The new one makes your shell spin last infinitely!
@Azotadeth5 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty confused as to why you wouldn't want to pick Chronos on Makoa. Dredge Anchor is what makes him a real threat, so you'd want to be able to throw those out as often as possible, right? With 11/8.5 seconds CD its bound to make a noticeable difference. Same or moreso for the shield, particularly if you're using it with Half Shell to protect your allies and focus on hooking enemies, and enemies aren't too keen on unloading on the shield to trigger Barrier Reef's CD reduction.
@CreevesPaladinsGuides5 жыл бұрын
In theory sure... but it doesn't really work out like that. Chronos does not make a big enough impact for it's worth due to the already short natured cooldown and it's massive price. Although the hook is his most powerful ability, he doesn't need it up that often. The only thing Chronos is useful is for Supports and a few other limited champions. Another reason it's not meta is because there's so many other things to buy: cauterize, haven/blast, and rejuvenate are all a must. The amount Chronos costs is just not worth it for the extra half a second it might save you, especially as the hook is quite unreliable at times anyway. If you get to the point where a yellow item is needed, you may as well pick up Nimble, Morale or Master Riding for the benefit you will receive.
