Thanks! You are one of them that plays it right except that you don’t go again after stealing opponents marbles. You also one of them that plays it right at the end. When you Finnish first emptying your side you are rewarded with the opponents marbles that’s left. 👍🏻👍🏻

I like the sounds the marbles make as you drop them into the baskets; plink, plink, plunk! Plink, plink, plunk! So soothing and relaxing, hehe!

Alyssa Luna, I can't reply directly to you because of your google settings, but in response to your question: If the last seed you sow ends in an empty area on your side, you get that seed and you also take all the seeds on your opponents side, in the pot directly opposite.

when i put my last bead in my empty hole and the opposing side has beads i steal them including my bead. you do not go again because it is considered as dead so it is the opponent's turn.

The way I play is: I start the same way you do, and when you get Into your store with no more marbles in your hand, you go again. And if you land in a pit past your store, you pick up that pit and keep going until you end in an empty space.

Yeah that's not how I played . We'd pick a pit on our side , then sow through and if you're last seed was in an empty pit you stop and it's the other persons turn if you land your last seed in more seeds you pick all those up and keep going

I play: move your seeds, if you land on the other side, I continue with that set of seeds and continue, if I land on an empty I stop. If my side is empty, the person still goes and then I get some on my side. That’s how I play it
@argonwheatbelly6376 жыл бұрын
This is American Kalah. I play Oware, Omweso, Bao, etc... not this. If you want to play something like this, then play Ayoayo, or even Congkak. Without the "pie rule", whoever goes first will always win. This variant has pretty much been solved.

The Way I Play It Is That O Start with Three in Each Pit And If The Marble Lands in a pit that's like full Even if it was on the other person's side I pick it up and keep Going untill I land in a blank spot and I play around the word Somtimes and sometimes steals in Mancala

Not sure if this was mentioned already in the chat, but if you capture a pit full of your opponents seeds and put them in your score pile, you don't get actually another turn in standard rules of the game. Is this a house rule you created??

The rules you explained in your video were unfamiliar to me. Was that a set of household rules you demonstrated? Regardless, I'll share with you what variation I grew up playing and how I prefer to play Mancala now. When I was younger, I would play Mancala where each individual would continue his turn if he either landed in his "store" aka Mancala or on a space occupied by other counters or marbles. As you already know, this variation is less skillful and more random. However, for children younger than the minimum age recommended (6 years old) it can be entertaining and easily comprehensible. As I mentioned, I prefer a more strategic and calculation-based game especially since Mancala to me is intended to challenge one's skill in counting and planning several moves ahead in comparison to his opponent. For this reason, I play Mancala where the remaining "seeds" are counted towards the player whose side of the board is still occupied. Unlike your version where the player to have a completely empty board win the game, I find it rather challenging and entertaining to plan several moves ahead and try to predict your opponent's moves as well. In addition to planning and predicting, I also have to "strategize" or think strategically how I will gain the most seeds while at the same time not dwindling down my side of the board unless it benefits me more.
@TheKateeMeow9 жыл бұрын
Tom Bosco thank you for sharing some different variations on how you play mancala, I am definitely going to have to try it your way. What I love is that it does sound more challenging :) the interesting thing to me is that I have encountered many ppl who play mancala in different ways. Sometimes there are small changes but for the most part the game is the same, in other instances the game is very different, so it's always fun to hear about these differences!
@tombosco62389 жыл бұрын
TheKateeMeow What you said about Mancala being the same but different in small ways are words from a wise gamer. Variations are highly encouraged, even nowadays, which makes that gaming experience different at times bit hopefully always entertaining and fun!
@jomar5008 жыл бұрын
I do not play like that! Whoever is left with no seeds/stones ends the game, meaning the other player takes all remaining stones/seeds and adds them to his store; the player with the most seeds/stones in their store wins.
