House music casts a huge net with so many sub genres within it. In this video I look at melodic house and how you can recreate the beats using an electronic drum kit.

Very useful... Can I ask... How do you go about the actual mixing of each song as you play?... I mean, how do you transition from one song to the other? How do you prepare you clips? Do you trigger scene by scene or do you mix and match clips (loops, samples and midi)... Thx so much!

It's a great question and has many answers but ultimately it really is down to you and how you'd like to build and perform your tracks. Some people are happier playing along to a whole backing track, triggered from 1 pad, which means you then have to become more of a composer/producer and mixer in getting the track to sound right. If you more into building a track as you go then you need to have a great stock of sounds, loops and/or plugins (such as Kontakt) that you can trigger.Choosing this concept is a lot of fun but you'll need good management of your sounds & loops ..... otherwise it could get very messy! If you're management system is good then yeah, you can absolutely mix and match, trigger by scene or not and there are some great tools to use which allow you to do this such as Max4Live devices.
