Something tells me I remember Zakk economy pick this.
@weicco Жыл бұрын
Btw. I don't like this discussion around is it normal picking, economy picking, some other picking. It over analyzes something magical out of playing the guitar. Play it with feeling and just do it! 😊
@thomasanderson9202 Жыл бұрын
@@weicco of course but at the same time part of me wants do know more about the magic behind. That play with feeling sometimes comes from players who can't really nail it and then find a million excuses why they can't.
@weicco Жыл бұрын
About that. I thought that a bit and then remembered couple of stories. First was that when Pantera made comeback, everyone was saying how great Zakk nailed Dimebag's solos. That is true of course but when solo guitarist changes I don't expect him/her to copy the previous guitarist. New guitarist have artistic freedom to do his own stuff while respecting the old stuff. Second story was about that. When Skolnick left Testament, the new guitarist (can't remember name right now) said in interview that he can not play Alex's solos so he'll do his best and play his own way. That is quite respectful statement. No one can play Alex's solos, not even himself 😄 To newbie guitarists I would say that, yeah, you can practise the heck out of anything but remember to develop something new at the same time. Something of your own. It is hard to come up with anything new these days but if you make it, the world is yours. Take for instance Trey Azagthoth. He developed a new metal genre with Morbid Angel with his quite strange playing.
