using the charts from your premium site help a lot. Staying alert and watching what people raise and three bet with and then watching what they show down with. Understand who is a nit and who is a LAG. Recognizing situations where players can't be that strong and, having a big stack and doing all this, well, it's a winning formula. Study Study Study the charts from your premium site! replay hands, look at them with the charts after the game

My continuation bet frequency on the flop is 45% and the turn CB frequency 48% and am only getting to showdown 25% of the time (which I think means my aggression is paying off), I've also been shoving as a bluff more often on the river and getting it through and I would never have added that tool to my toolbox without you Jonathan!

60 percent cb I have, under 50 tells me u bet top pair or middle pair or check. 60 to 65 percent is the sweet spot. Hard to play against when it's in the 60s. I love players who have under 50 percent and 100 percent. Then it's like fold if he bets unless you have a draw or something u like and 100 percent are easy check raise if the board is like 9h5s3d

All depends on opponents....if they play GTO I like it better but two call stations in a multiway pot can be not profitable lol. U have AK, one has 96o....flop is Ah9s6d3sJc.......u will end up losing 20 to 40bbs

I was confused somewhat how we were supposed to join "cbet more often" with the general guidelines on how to play post-flop with premium hands/ marginal hands/ draws/ etc. Doesn't this specify when we should cbet? Then i realized the idea is to design your ranges so that c-betting occurs more often. It doesn't mean just bet your junk or marginal hands more. I take it the idea would be change your ranges so you have more cbetting. Thought i would comment on this in case someone else had a similar thought.

Tip#2 is very true but also always risky I mean what if your opponent does call but it is a very good strategy. Played last night and had two pairs queens and 8's and was betting up a decent little pot and a 3rd spade came on the river and I raised and my opponent went all in. I ended up folding and he showed his hand and was bluffing. I was sick and never recovered but I learned from the experience. Played tonight and had a pair of aces and the river came a third space and my opponent went just about all in with a 6k raise. I thought about it and then I called and won the hand. Poker really is alot of skill but that little bit of luck is always crucial. I love all the little nuances of this game and how it's all mental and all about tendencies and just instincts. Such a great learning experience for me though I'm sure one day I'll call and my opponent will actually have a flush or a better hand than me, that's how the game is.

thank you for this video. I sometimes find it overwhelming to study 3bet charts, because some bluffs are very out of line and not always do I get the sense of it in order to adjust to my opponent's tendencies (ex BB vs SB cash, when T5s is a 3bet, but T6s is a call, and yet T9s is another 3bet, or when 54s and 87s 3bet but 65s calls). I get that there is botton of range and unblocking bottom of their range stuff going on, but I wonder if you will one day go more in depth about why gto charts choose some hands in place of others. Its depending on your position and villains position. Sounds like you understand it and solver is just solver, sometimes it doesn't make sense, only for a computer but from what I read you understand it more than most people so just keep grinding brother

Just finished playing some low stakes heads up online, the last guy I played against continuation bet the flop 1/3 pot everytime he missed the flop and bet 1/2 to 2/3 everytime he hit, super easy to play against, I raised with air everytime he bet 1/3 pot and made some overfolds with marginal stuff whenever he upped his bet size, 💵💰 Shame it was only a $2 sng.

I guess the key with those river jams is you need to remember than some of the time villain will have it anyways with something like Q9ss or 97ss that didn't raise turn because they didn't really need protection, or calling river using hands like 88 or 33 with a spade as bluff catchers.

I wish I could apply this to anonymous zone and cash games. There no one knows you only 3-bet your good hands. And average starting value goes down in zone , giving more reason to 3 bet strong hands.

How do you balance exploit vs gto when playing with a mixed bag of players? I play with people some of whom are much better, so it’s hard for me to know whether to focus on exploit or gto

I think that they should go hand in hand. You always want to be thinking, what is the most profitable play in this exact scenario. Start from good fundamentals, observe player tendencies, and look to adjust to account for them.

I am a premium member at pokercoaching. I wonder if it would be possible to create charts that aren't just opponents betting GTO sizes. For example, in the live 1/2 games I play many of the opponents open raise 5 - 7.5 BB preflop even w/o limpers (then sometimes have multiple callers anyway). I play much tighter than these charts, but perhaps too loose/tight even so.

A lot of that comes down to the player. You can't really make a "correct" solution when people deviate so far from GTO. The best thing to do is watch these people and how they play when they bet that much, also what hands they show. At the end of the day charts are based off EV if the price to enter the pot goes up then so should the equity of your hands this includes your bluffing ranges. Generally if people are trying to play very splashy and you don't feel comfortable post flop, just play tight vs them.

I’ve noticed it seems normal (when I play in Vegas) to open upto 10BB. So my hand I was looking at 3 bet bluffing or even to see a flop on a $1/$2 table is just to large, so you have no choice but to tighten up and wait for the good cards. When you do open raise and use the correct sizing, because it’s so cheap in comparison, all the table calls. It’s frustrating for sure.

You need to use a solver (ie poker snowie) to create your own charts for cash. 9 handed with a pot or 2pot sized opening bet. ✌🏻

I think the K9o hand isn't a good example for small stakes games. Because you have enough maniacs or stations who ether call anything with an As High, any middlepair or even the flush in the end. If you are indeed against a reg, then this should be fine. But against a Station or maniac this tactic will make you poor as f*ck. They will have the flush or any mid pair all the time. I guess the As high is the only hands we get to fold with a flop and turn bet in most cases. No Station folds a flushdraw, modt stations dont fold midpair. Maybe im just paranoid, but a play like this never worked out for me. I mostly check/fold River if they bet and 80% of the time they have the flush or would have concided after a flop bet.

my favorite statistic is....... my opponents range coupled with their fold equity . I find the check raise on hard to hit boards to be an exceptional play shortstacked in deeper MTTs . I have check raises with 25o in my range. Statistics are fun but succesful concepts and theory depend upon our opponents view of us and I imo believe that GTO needs gears that assess the opponent and understand what decision he is leaning towards and gears created to influence that lean/mistake to seem like the best choice . who ever gets the chips the fastest is not gonna be worried about losing with KKs to aces. becuase he wont be all in

I feel if you play LOW stakes poker(tourneys or cash) players at that level rarely think about the K blocker if they hit the flush. If i have Q9 or 89 spades, even 78 spades, I call everytime on the river. These plays only work against opponents who think. This is an old Omaha Plo strategy. And it's far more effective in that type of game where the nut is more likely to be present. Even tho at low stakes bad players don't recognize the play and call you with a 7 high flush and crush you because you're not evaluating your opponent correctly.

I just won a tournament not following this guys strategy. I saw many over aggressive players loose their chips, early in the tournament. Caught bluffing, caught over betting, caught over betting pre flop, caught over bluffing post flop, caught bluffing continuation betting, and out of the tournament before most players.
