It's incredible how similar David Gilmore's solo from "Mother" is to the extended solo on "Pigs On the Wing" part 2 from the 8 track version and played by Pink Floyd guitarist Snowy White. I absolutely love both, and a testament of being a teenager in the 70's. Once again a phenomenal rendering and tutorial from Carl at 365!

I like your teaching style better than anybody else on KZbin. I would love to be able to get in person lessons. Alas ....... I used to be a guitarist until I was injured and received a TBI. That messed my brain up so badly that it was a year before I could once again do the normal everyday things that we take for granted. My brain function never did return to 100% normal so it was like learning to play all over again. I knew what I wanted my fingers to do but my brain was telling them to do something totally different. I gave up for many years until I was able to accept that I had to approach it as though I had never played before. I have gotten back a lot of my skill in the last year through your lessons and the help of a Neurologist I found that is also a guitarist and uses music to help restore brain function to people who had traumatic brain injuries like mine. My memory will probably never again store things in a way where I can pull them up at will but I can reference back to your lessons and remember. I guess I went a long way around the block there to say THANK YOU for helping me regain my ability to do the only thing that gives me peace.

This is fantastic stuff, as are all your videos! Sorry if I missed, it but can you say what pedals you are hooked up to? A fuzz pedal of some type? It's adding to the "gilmour" flavor that I'm not achieving with just my fender. Thanks!

The solo is easy to play but the rake technique before the bending at 4:32 has given me countless problems. A truly insidious step, I know that I have to improve myself first with the rake technique because currently its success is an unknown.

Why can't I find any tabs for this solo where any notes are on the lpw e string and those notes are down on the 2nd and 3d fret....is it wrong?
@pts52174 жыл бұрын
Almost perfect, except I believe the last two bends are actually on the B string above the 12th fret
@rimianperkins65336 жыл бұрын
I've listened to this for ages and got quite a lot of it but I was unsure exactly where he was on the fret board between/during some of the phrases. Most of the other players I've seen attempt this were right down on the 2nd, 3rd fret on the bottom end of this solo which didn't seem right (given there's a bend of a full tone down there). My question is: How did you break it down? I've listened to this at slower speeds but the harmonics make it hard to hear exactly what's happening. Impressive how you've done it.
