I grew up with Motown, and it always fascinated me how they got that mix of guitar sounds fab!

Very interesting.. A year ago before buying my first guitar I watched a video of you explaining guitars and it was really helpful. Through that and many other videos, I picked up a used Strat Copy and an amp. A year later, I've learned some basics, some songs, chord progressions, scales, etc. Feeling like I'm ready to venture out a bit, and want to learn my dad's favorite music; Motown. Watched a few vids from other channels, but yours was the most concise. Very well made, informative, easy to understand, no rambling, no repeating yourself, tabs, pictures of what your referencing, everything was pretty much bang on. Thank you. I'm glad you cover every genre, can't wait to start learning some more.

Great job in breaking down how the guitar parts work in motown. I am not sure if this would be a far stretch from Motown guitar, but I would be interested in how the guitar parts work together in the reggae music of Desmond Dekker (Israelites) and other artists from the 70's era of music that Leslie Kong produced.

What do you think of The Rolling Stones playing guitar together? I’m talking about Ronnie wood and Keith Richards in particular, because they have a whole different view on playing together. They call it the ancient art of weaving: making 2 guitars sound like 1 guitar, while still keeping some sort of playfulness between the two of them. I’d love to know more on how it works, but I can’t seem to find anything on KZbin regarding this style. Do you know anything about it? Tnx for the video:)

Hey bud, great video, im primarily a blues singer/guitarists, well, basically anything vintage soul.. im in the middle making a record, started off a heavy blues type vibe...hence, i been writing alot of motown stuff, sometimes you cant help what comes out of the soul, ya know? Anyway, i developed a guitar techique making up parts and playing as much as possible at once, this kinda put it in perspective for me, before this im like how the hell did that guitarists do all that lol thanks subscribing now...

So where is the song written? In the baselines? I can’t see either of those guitar parts being brought up with “I have an idea for a song” you know? Greet video BTW.
@JameyArent2 жыл бұрын
In many cases, it's just the basic chords sung on the piano, and the specific parts are added later. Sometimes it might be a bass line. These guitar parts are more "icing on the cake" than the anchor to the entire song like in many rock/pop styles.
@jesseformella27012 жыл бұрын
What’s the name of the artist and the song?
@JameyArent2 жыл бұрын
It’s not an actual song, just a groove inspired by common Motown grooves. The baseline is basically the same as “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch” by the Four Tops.
