One of my favorite songs of all time. Like so many Springsteen songs, it evokes memories of my childhood growing up on the Jersey Shore. Can't believe you made it so easy for me to play. I will treasure this one always.💯

Thank you Marty!!! for playing and teaching me the song "My Hometown" by Bruce Springsteen. Those fateful words "my hometown" drifted into my mind as I was re-orienting to my own little "hometown" following a week away. I had only heard the song a couple times so it was a kind of "spiritual" that I would even recall it. Anyway, I felt moved to try it out, so I went to my computer to print out the words and chords and that's when I stumbled upon your presentation. Now I have a great song to add to my song list. Greatly appreciated.

I'm such a noob that I'm playing this with G, Cadd9, D and Em. It helps me keep up since I don't have the dexterity yet to move so easily to C. I'm playing along with you over and over and I don't really notice much difference between C and Cadd9. I really appreciate this video!
@partymartyeasyguitartunes171110 жыл бұрын
Karkinos That's right Kark, There is little to no difference. In fact, I play what ever shape of C is comfortable depending on the song i'm playing at the time. But I treat Cadd9 as a regular C chord. Either one will work, thanx for tuning in and Happy Holidays

Very good. Help me out a lot. But it only goes to the Em twice and then it swaps to C in place of the Em twice. When he said "They're closing down"Not meaning to correct you but is guitar players have to stick together. Try it and you'll here the difference. Thanks again for the help.

+kevin lee No problem my friend thanx for your thoughts. I've always played it that way but I like your way too. That's tghe beauty of music, making it your own, is half the fun. Thanx for your comments and for tuning in, take care

Nice, but in the bridge after 2 x Em, G the chords goes back C, G and C, G, D (or even C, G, C, D). Your version sounds fine, but I think there is a slight deviation here from the original song. Best regards.

Got me to pondering that also. That will catch everything on the D but maybe not so much on the G? Still he is better than I will ever be. He reminds me a bit of that other guitar guy - Marty Schwartz.
