this vid is a tremendous public service to the electric guitar world, righting the playing for one of the top 10 metal songs ever! ohhhh you must do the solo, absolutelyyyy 👍 solo has difficult tricks to it, to really play it 110% authentically to the original. again one of the top metal solos ever. and iommi improvised it in a just a few takes for recording, quickly off-the-cuff too right?

I've enjoyed watching videos of Mr. Bowcott so much on Sweetwater that I went back and listened to Grim Reaper, who I have not listened to in probably 25 years! That led me to a day of rocking out to Grim Reaper, Armored Saint, and Helloween, all of whom I used to watch on a concert I video on MTV when I was a teenager! Was a great stress reliever! I highly recommend it!

Best "Paranoid" rhythm lesson on the net. Thanks Nick. I was there in when it released 1970. Diverted my attention away from Free and their outstanding "Fire & Water" album....for a moment. Still love it. Signature Sabbath. Epic. Anyway, already have this nailed pretty much, but enjoyed and appreciated Nick spelling out the nuance definitively. "Paranoid" solo ASAP please Nick. Thank you.

Idk if any of y’all have Tony Iommi’s multi artist collaboration album, IOMMI. From 2000 my high school grad yr. but it truly truly is one of the best albums ever made IMO. It’s so good, just thought I’d throw that out there in case someone watching this video hasn’t heard it. If you haven’t, go buy it, I’m still listening to it 21 yrs later.

This is 100% correct. Toney Iommi also has a great interview with Gibson, in which he explains how most of the guitar tab books teach his riffs incorrectly. I always used to argue with people that did everything by the book when it came to Sabbath, and glad so! Always trust your ears.🤘

Who remembers the whacky guy on the internet long ago who was selling "Iommi false finger tips" in order to supposedly "accurately reproduce Iommi's tone" ?? I forget what the whacky guy said they were made of..plastic or real leather or..whatever nonsense. No end to guitar-tone myths.
@Tg4047861913 жыл бұрын
I love the lesson, but I'm confused 🤔. He literally says you bar the D,G, and B strings and play those. Then he puts up a graph that says it's an Em7. It's a Gmaj triad,, not an Em7. If your bar included the high E string, then it would be an Em7. Someone correct me if I'm missing something? Don't get me wrong, I love the video, and I don't want to be that guy, but.....I guess I am. 🥺
@nickbowcott88223 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom - I hear you, those three notes could well be interpreted as an inverted G major triad (G/D) but I, er, hear it as Em7 as the key is E minor and Tony plays an E5 immediately before the stab, giving us E, B, D, G, B...and sometimes the E at the 12th fret on the high G string too. Make sense? If you hear it as G/D...rock on, all good!!
@PastTime7773 жыл бұрын
Of coarse you have to do the solo, because everyone is probably playing it wrong. These videos will eventually have a ton of views.
