@hughjorgan10006 жыл бұрын
Board Game Museum, You are wrong and Naresh Kumar is correct. Even in the old game, the rules are the same. Once a pawn enters home a player gets 10 extra moves on any pawn, assuming the moved piece has the spaces available. In addition, players cannot move a blockade (two pawns together) the seven spaces to maintain a blockade. All of these factors lead to quite a bit of strategy in this great old game. Lastly, in the event of three doubles, one most move the forward most pawn back to home, not just any pawn of choice.

Note: the 20-spaces after capture is not in the official rules. It is considered a common "local rule" so as to speed up the game. The rules of capture are very specific. One method not covered here is capturing from single die. For example, an opponent 5 spaces away on a non-safe, non-blocked spot, if you roll nine (6+3=9), you can (a) move through them without capture the full 9 spaces, (b) move 6 spaces placing you 1 space ahead fo them, using the other die , 3, for a different piece, (c) move 3 spaces and placing you 2 spaces behind them, using the other die, 6, on a different piece Same scenario, but now suppose you roll (5+4). The option (a) remains; you can drive past them moving 9 spaces. However, because one of the die is indeed a 5, they are captured by the first-die move before the second (e.g you capture with the 5, then choose to continue the remaining die 4 spaces. You can also obviously move just the 5-die spaces, capture, and use the 4-die on another piece, or move the 4-die spaces leaving you one back of them, using the 5-die on a different piece. The point is, so long as one of the die (or both of the die should you choose that route) has a value that lands you explicitly *on* their space, they're captured unless you explicitly use a configuration that avoids it.
@DavidGonzalez-kz5wp3 жыл бұрын
What happens with the doubles bonus if I already have pawns inside home? Let's say I have 3 pawns home and roll doubles can I move the only remaining pawn the 14 spaces?
@SylviaRR7 жыл бұрын
I had all three of my red pieces in Home. With my last piece, I got to the last space in the red spaces. You would have to roll a one to get into Home, which is impossible, b/c you have to roll two dice. You are only able to roll snake eyes. So my family said I lost since you have to roll the exact number to get into Home. My rolls were a 1 and a 4, then a 1 and a 5, then a 6 and a 4. I thought I should be able to get in by using the one from a roll, but since I only had one piece left out, they said you have to use all of your roll. They continued to play and rolled exact numbers to get into Home.
@Kharnellius5 жыл бұрын
No, you can use one die to enter Home per the rules. See Movement of Pieces in the manual: www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/Parchessi.PDF
@Babs112854 жыл бұрын
As long as you roll a 1 on one of the dice you move that piece home and you win (you disregard what is on the second dice). You basically have two chances to roll at least a 1 on the dice since you are rolling two dice. Your probability is greater.

@gynandroidhead5 жыл бұрын
1) If you have a single pawn in your opponent's starting point, and he gets out - your pawn will be captured and returned to YOUR starting point even though an opponent's starting point is a safety spot. 2) If you have a blockade on an opponent's starting point, the opponent WILL NOT be able to enter a pawn and be forced to use the roll for as much movement as the roll allows. If all four pawns are in the nest, and a blockade resides on an opponent's starting point, they forfeit their turn because they can't enter any pawns.

What if u have one space left to win? U can't roll a one. This is the only thing I can't figure out unless u have to roll double ones.

colby duckworth I've always known since being a kid that when your last piece is on the red ramp, you can only roll with one dice.

Just roll with 1 dice the whole game

My game is older but doesn’t have so many rules and extras Like using the bottom numbers on the dice you roll on doubles Lol are you teaching us house rules ?

This is an older version and the rules are a lot different from the more modern ones that I've seen.

I've been looking all over for a comprehensive tutorial. I don't understand how a simple game as this has so many different rules. even the names are different, such as Parchisi, Parcheesi, or Ludo. Which one is it? One version says five to get out another says six. This is ridiculous
@NareshKumar-bw3vm6 жыл бұрын
No problem dear. The Patent name is Parchessi.With 5 no. u can enter.Local rule may go with 6 but the exact one is 5. Ludo is different from this Parchessi.Ludo is U.K.game whereas Parchessi is U.S.A game.

what to do if we got 6+6
@evenbetter12743 жыл бұрын
Well since it’s not five you can’t take a piece out but if multiple pieces are out then you can move 12 with one piece or 6 with two pieces and then roll again cause it’s a double

How do you get a piece which is one step away from Parcheesi in? It's impossible to get a 1 when you roll two dice.

Board Game Museum: Home Of Classic Board Games Oh, okay, that makes sense. Another solution I thought of was moving backwards to be able to move forward.
@NareshKumar-bw3vm6 жыл бұрын
No backward will be here. if any of two dice show 1 number..u can enter with ur last 4th pawn.
