As Person trying to lose weight. I walked for 2 hours today (With small water breaks). And i will say this is AMAZING to keep pushing you're self. I have 3 parks by me walking/running distance and i always go when i get a chance for rewards and catching pokemon. I walked 8 KM = roughly around 5-7 miles??? Not so sure, but i captured over 50+ Pokemon's (most are pidgey's and shit). But found some more rare ones. Its worth it... Just be aware of yer surrounding. I know its common sense but you're so glued to to phone to track Pokemon down that i often would trip on sticks and curbs.

Pokemon Go hasn't been globally released so if you can't find it at your store it's because it hasn't been released in your country. Also you can get more than 10xp for a curve ball. A curve ball is actually made by holding the ball and moving it in a circular motion - the direction you move the pokéball determines the way it curves. He mentioned that 1000 stardust is the maximum you need to power up your Pokemon, actually the amount goes further and after 1000 you will be charged 2 candies instead of 1 to power it up.

In my town there's a constant rivalry between team Valor and team Instinct. Team Valor controls a gym for 1 week then the Instincts come and take it over for a few hours, then the Valors wreck them and take it back. It's an endless cycle.

Considering how popular the game is, several people would have already encountered shinies and those pictures would probably be floating all over the internet. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually secretly added shinies in a random update in the future. Maybe even alongside Johto pokemon.

to the first part of your question, yes. I turn on the app before i get in the car to drive and it counts for me as distance traveled. and to your second question, you will know when you see a pokemon you've never seen before. If you hardly ever see said pokemon chances are its a rare(er) than the common pokemon in your area. Which should be rattata or pidgeys

Don't just walk randomly. If you do you won't get as much. See when the steps on each Pokemon get less, meaning you're getting closer to a Pokemon. That's the best way to track where they are. And if that doesn't help, look for the rustling grass, but it might be a lie. Don't use the rustling grass if you don't have to.
