I got this too. The only way I was able to work around it is to actually sign up with PSN on the secondary PSN account. And yes, I had to pay for it.

@@shanghaidilly3144 i figured it out. So sign into ps5 and ps4 with your primary ps+ account. Activate ps4 with that account. Then make the second FREE account and sign in (my daughters non-ps+ account in my case) this next part is important: LOG OUT of your primary account on the ps4. (Only the free account should be logged in) Because you activated the ps4 with that account, you will still get the ps+ benefits with the free account. The issue i was running into is because i thought i had to stay logged in on my primary and switch to secondary (so both accounts were technically logged in) This caused my ps5 games to close because of multiple sign-ins on different consoles. As of July 24 2022... im able to play the ps+ game Shinobi Strikers, with my main account on ps5, and my daughters free account on ps4.

My PS4 is set as active, but when I try to play a game on my wife's profile on that, and the same game on my profile on the PS5, it logs me out of the first one. Am I doing something wrong? I tried it with Tiny Tina's and it didn't work. Do I have to share something with my wife's profile? - EDIT: Nevermind, I worked it out. You have to LOG OUT of the PS4 machine with your main account. Just tested it and it worked, this is a game-changer. I have had my PS5 for over a year and I didn't know I could do this, thumbs up!!!!

@@finnrater4812 yes we do it all the time. I play on the PS5, my wife plays on the PS4. You have to setup the second console to allow family to play and then the account the other person uses needs to be added to the family. You can do it on Xbox & PC too with gamespass

I think so yes, the console where the player with the PS+ account should be the main account console. For us, that is me and I use the PS5. My wife who pays nothing and just has a basic account with no plus subscription plays on the PS4. You have to login to the PS4 with your + account to download the games, but then you can switch to the other account when playing on that. In fact you have to log the main account OUT of the second console, or it will kick you from the first one. So I have to log out of the PS4 console and log her in, if I want to play with her online. So I am on the PS5 and she is on the PS4. Hope that helps!

@@mikaelj3760 the way i understand it is both the ps5 and ps4 must be registered as primary consoles. yes, you can have 2 primaries as long as they are different generations of consoles (one ps4 and one ps5). now, whether or not your ps5 can play a ps4 game while the ps4 is also playing a ps4 game is still unknown. i will be testing this today

You can but you have to be on separate accounts. So if your account is activated as primary on ps5 then you can play on a different account while your daughter plays on your account on ps4. Idk if that cleared it up lol.

@@Rufs1231 i actually figured out what was going on... i posted a reply to someone else here.. This is what i did: So sign into ps5 and ps4 with your primary ps+ account. Activate ps4 with that account. @@12hunter17 yes. However, what it doesn't tell you is that you need to log on to the profile with PSN, create a whole new user with all settings accessed with its own email set up. Then that account 'piggybacks' off the original one. Let me know if you struggle and I will try and remember step by step.

@@evohead go to set up a new user on your PS4. You will need another email to do this. Since your account on the PS4 has PSN, every user will have access to it. All it is, is a new user account

I have a question that i can not seem to find answer too. Maybe you or someon can help. I have 2 kids, one has the ps4 and pne has the ps5. When the one playing the ps4 is playing a game and the other goes into his room and turns on the ps5 it interferes with the 4. The ps4 player only races cars so this interfering with his game play upsets him. My question is, is there a way to fix this . Thanks in advance
