Andy. Brilliant tutorial,Expertly demonstrated and explained. You are so right when you say Quo songs are for more intricate than most people think. Thank you.

That's a savage sound on the tele - love it. A long lesson but good all the same, you cover the important basic and feel of the song. Never thought of doing/hearing the piano intro on guitar - that was good.

Thank you ever so much, yeah it's nice to plug in the Tele again, been a while since I've used it on the channel , nothing better than a bit of Quo on the Tele. Yeah I think the keyboard part sounds good on guitar, certainly a good one for discipline with those chord shapes high up on the neck, have fun learning it! 🤘🎸

Love this Andy! You covered all of the ins and outs of Rick and Francis. Parfitt was absolutely the best rhythm player ever! Tele sounds great!

@@larryflaharty4879 thank you ever so much, yeah always been a huge fan of them both especially the earlier frantic four era, great songs! And absolutely agreed with you, Rick was always so solid at hammering out those shuffles, love the sound of a Tele being played hard like Rick! 🎶🎸

@larryflaharty4879 wow I bet that was absolutely fantastic, great era for the band and yeah I've seen only ever a little bit of footage of Rick on the SG, great sounding guitar, but I guess the Telecaster had that Quo Bite and the look they were going for, thanks again for watching and sharing your memories, fantastic band and brilliant songs! 🎸🎶

Love it! Thank you so much for doing this! Can't get enough of some Quo magic! Would you do more Status Quo songs? Any song would be lovely and appreciated. I'm thinking it could be interesting to do "Whatever you want" since it has a drop D tuning and how they play the chords and the bits aren't too obvious. Could be interesting, yes!? 😀

I used to love 70’s Quo and learnt Caroline & whatever you want yrs ago using a play like Rick parfitt DVD , I’ve now no idea how I played but it was nt difficult here link to my vid of it if it helps ? AWESOME VIDEO. What amp settings are you using please?
@cyclesgoff976811 ай бұрын
Man, is that a Marshall Vintage/Modern with the purple tolex. If it is I could be buying ££😁. Love the big sound diffuser btw.
@AndyDoveGuitar11 ай бұрын
Thank you ever so much for watching, and yes well spotted, it's from the marshall studio range (same as the silver jubilee in the background too) it's my favourite range they have done, basically shrunken down all the classic amps to 20 watt versions, added a low watt option too, so it switches down to 5 watts also, if you search for marshall Studio vintage or 'Marshall SV20H' you'll find it, I got it in the 'Navy Levant' tolex which is beautiful, but yeah they do a few options, I also love the white tolex too, either way an incredible amp! 🎸
@cyclesgoff976811 ай бұрын
@@AndyDoveGuitar ah, there was an actual amp called the “vintage modern” in black,blue tolex. Essentially a plexi with a mst volume. 50 w combo and heads and a 100w head with matching cab 😉
@AndyDoveGuitar11 ай бұрын
@@cyclesgoff9768 oah that's cool, maybe it's where they go the idea for this range from, but yeah check them out if you aren't familiar with the studio range, the newest in the range is a JTM, but they have the Plexi like this one, a JCM800 and the Silver Jubilee, all 20 watts switch able down to 5 I believe, with either a 1x12 or 2x12 cabs or combos, depending on where you look you can get various colour options, great amps! 🤘

You keep referring to it as a Quo song, but remember it's the Quo version of a John Fogerty (formerly CCR) song from his second solo album. Great playing though.
@AndyDoveGuitar11 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching, yeah love Fogerty's voice on the original, but always resonated more with the Quo version personally, both are brilliant feel good songs. Hope you have fun learning this classic, I really enjoyed making this video and the keyboard intro on guitar is a good challenge! 😎🎸
