Hello! The numbers represent what frets you press down on each string starting with the thickest string. So if it's 0 3 2 0 1 0 your thickest string is played open, your second thickest is played on the 3rd fret, the third thickest is played on the 2nd fret, then open, then first fret, then open for the final strings.

so obv you know this now, but for anyone who checks the replies, its pretty simple. When reading out chords, he's going from left to right, and each number corresponds to the fret the finger should be on. If I wanted to do an e minor I'd say 0-none, 2, 2, 0, 0, 0. The same goes for tab, but just laid out.
