At around 6:20 you forgot to mention another option which is to grab the opponent and use a throw move exactly before you will get hit so you have invincibility during the throw and dont take damage for it!

Sephiroth is the only reason I still play this game from time to time, such a hype character. He’s got the precision of a regular sword user with the fear factor of ganon, a very satisfying combination. Also this whole video was gnarly this channel is about to explode

I LOVE the design for Sephiroth. He’s rewarded for being precise. Every move rewards Sephiroth for being super precise with it. His nair is his best combo starter, but it’s only out for 2 frames. His side b gets punished if it’s not spaced, and it’s a quick, thin projectile. It’s just beautiful

Sephiroth counters them though. Throw the "broken one" offstsge and just counter her recovery and she is dead automatically. Also she cannot unrange you can keep constant pressure horizontally on land with shadow flare, forcing her to jump to approach you which you can punish with up air, back air or upsmash. Pyra is really bad against Sephiroth because you csn counter one of her moves and she dies instantly, also she is slower and her recovery is super gympeable

I think you should also cover the weakness of shadow flare too, especially against Ness/Lucas. Also, I think some grabs grant invulnerability too?

Yes, using throw invincibility seems like a good option. Taking the dmg won't be that big of a deal, because ur not giving sephiroth a setup opportunity at least.

I don't feel it is a weakness against ness and and lucas. It is a 50/50. You are forcing them to run away and use their absorption shield to heal themselves and at that moment you can just hit them regularly and they still might get hit by shadow flare.

@@Yokai_Yuri I dunno, both Ness and Lucas have pretty good evasive capabilities, and if they absorb they get a LOT of health back. I do agree that it is a 50/50. I try to avoid using shadow flare too much on them, sticking mainly to a-button attacks. Never minding that they can absorb down-b and neutral-b (though neutral-b heals very little and if they space it wrong they can easily get hit). Not only absorb those, but also reflect with f-smash. One of my least favorite MU as Sephy.
