I’m trying to get one but it’s been an absolute challenge.

I just bought one from Kameya shop in Tokyo, this gentleman is the store manager. I ordered a nagauta shamisen, but they do all kinds. I highly recommend them. They deliver overseas.

I built a sort of gottan out of scrap wood not too long ago. it's a piece of junk compared to an actual shamisen but it's good enough for learning how to play until I can afford to buy one

I own it, but maintenance is just unsustainable. There's nowhere to buy parts for. I've lost a bridge for it and can't find it anywhere. There're couple of websites but prices are just exorbitant

Thanks for including the very beginning basics, like how to correctly hold the Bachi & wear the finger... sleeve? Finger something, haha. I have a mini shamisen- not full size, but with a nice sound- and this was helpful. The first thing I hope to learn to play is a ?folk? song I saw a maiko dance to in a video... it was similar to Sakura, in that it began with three slow notes (but descending) that are repeated (ascending this time), & it was very haunting and meditative. I’m obsessed a little with it... 😌

Why is it that when i hear the shamisen i feel like im hearing something from home like a memory i forgot. I makes.me long for the capital. I miss japan yet i am.american. why.
@AbCDef-zs6uj5 жыл бұрын
You probably heard it somewhere as a child (perhaps in cartoons, etc.) and the memory is buried deep in your mind without realizing it

Is there a percussive element to this instrument where banging on where the body/soundboard can be tapped/hit to make percussive accompaniment?
