Looks like my kind of game. Tutorial was good, but consider starting with the end goal, discussing mid-level, and then going into the detail. For instance, I love the woodworking videos where they show the finished piece, its major components, then the detailed steps for building it.

thank you for the feedback Ryan, we will keep that in mind, this was one of our first How to Play videos that we put together ourselves!

we are discussing some additional Sherlock themed game possibilities and depending on the popularity of this game, we love doing expansions for our games

Bought it and taking it on vacation. Love Sherlock and card games that pack a strategic/thinking punch in a small package. Have not been able to try it yet, but it sure looks like a perfect fit. Price was right too.

I just played through five games as my introduction. As the video doesn’t provide a full play through, I am not certain I am playing it correctly, but I believe I am and won 3 of the 5 games, with the last game being questionable only due to the timing of the win condition being achieved. I still had two cards in hand when the win condition was met, but if I completed the turn I would have lost due to taking a final wound. Since the rules state that each card is played one at a time and any abilities trigger from the cards being played, I assumed the win condition is checked after each sequence of play and abilities activated is completed. For example, you play the first card from your hand and no abilities activate, then the win condition is checked. Or you play the first card and it triggers a sequence of abilities moving various cards from one zone to another and the win condition is checked after all abilities are resolved from each card played. Several time my Crime Scene has 8 cards, one of each type, in it as I avoid making the pairs. I’m not sure this is how it is intended from this video but it makes sense and seems to play appropriately by doing it this way. Rules stating such would have clarified or a more defined playmat diagram showing 8 spots on the Crime Scene and 4 columns on the Office. Better yet, two more cards with the diagrams and zone names on them to keep above each area as this was confusing for the first few games but then became easier. Regardless. The extra cards with a muted background depicting a crime scene and office could help the immersion… or a playmat with the same…just some ideas. I am assuming I am playing it correctly and hope this is beneficial feedback. I did take a look at the other case and it may be awhile before I can win on any difficulty on that one, but I was surprised there was only two cases. Great quick games with an overall average of 15 minutes per game.

I agree on your evaluation. I played a couple of rounds, read the manual, checked the video … but am still unsure if I am doing it right. It would be great to have a full play through that shows normal game play in action as well as some edge cases. Also a second, more extended version of the manual would be great. Especially if it showed more examples.

The game designer stated on boardgamegeek that you have to finish the turn, so you would have lost.

I have a question about winning. Do you win as soon as the case is solved? or do you have to solve the case and finish out that hand? I have had times where the case is solved but if I play the other two cards on the crime scene I will end with too many wounds. Any clarification you can give would be appreciated! I have been playing that as soon as the case is solved the game is over regardless of the cards left in my hand. Thanks!

@@WiseWizardGames I wasn't able to go, but my brother did. He tried it out and said understood most of the rules, but also was able to get me a copy of it.

Not as helpful as I had hoped. I found this poorly explained. I agree with a previous comment suggesting leading with the objective and then breaking down how to get there. This video is lacking clarity and details.

Wow - for a company dedicated to games, your “how to” video is very poorly made and poorly explained 😢
