I love the ways to decide who goes first in these less known games

Really great job with the rule breakdown. Really cool how the animations showed off how a typical game goes. I'll have to bookmark this to show to new players.

Thank you! Speaking of animations, I loved the production quality on your Detours video. Well done.

Thank you so much! We poured a lot of love into that video as Smash Up is a really important game to us. Keep up the great work on your rules videos. I'm going to have to go through your vids to see if there are any games I need to pick up for my collection. You do a really good job at capturing what it's like to play the game.

Sweet. We should chat sometime. Are those going to become a regular series for you? I loved the "Every Frame a Painting" vibe I got from it.
@SidecarGames7 жыл бұрын
We should chat :). Feel free to reach out to us anytime. The Detours series is a pretty new show (we only have 2 episodes done so far) but the goal is to make it a monthly to semimonthly series as each episode takes a TON of work/research/animation etc. We have a few topics that are currently in the early stages of pre-production. Right now the majority of our channel is focused on video games with the Smash Up episode being our first steps in branching out to covering table top games as well. Thank you for the comparison to "Every Frame a Painting," that's high praise.

My fave combo is Dragon Ponies. Ponies are really good at swarming bases while Dragons are exceptional at stopping other aggro factions

I haven't had a chance to try out Dragons but Ponies are a great faction. I think Pretty Pretty might be my favorite expansion I've played so far.

This video is awesome and super helpful. Tomorrow our school is doing a Christmas fun day where teachers get to pick different fun things to do. My art teacher is bringing "nerd games" and one of those games is Smash Up. I've never played, but he told everyone who wants to play that we should go watch a tutorial on how to play before we came so he wouldn't have to continually explain the rules. This was the first video I watched, and I already feel ready to play! Thank you!!!

I love the graphic design and flow of your videos. Well done.

What software do you use for the tutorial graphics and animation? By the way, in my opinion, you are the best reviewer out there. Quick and concise. Other tutorials seem to take 45-60 minutes and are full of absolute misery.

Wonder if the used copy of this game I got (the smash up base game) was missing the tokens, or do those come with a different game?

Zombie robots are overpowered in this game, the amount of minions you can play every turn is crazy.

What are the rules applicable for moving minions between bases? Theres not enough information about this in the instruction booklet.
@ezraspychalski66022 жыл бұрын
You can only move your minions, actions or titans between bases when the ability of an action, minion, titan or base allows you to. Edit: when moving a card, you move any actions or counters on that card unless otherwise stated.

I've only played "Big in Japan" expansion (hilarious btw) but thanks for the vid! It helps with trying to explain it to my friends 😂

Do you have a rule video for Catan?
@Ishtarru7 жыл бұрын
I think the Zombies mesh best with the Ghosts. The way Ghosts make you discard cards means lots of minions in the discard pile, which is exactly where the Zombies like to be.

i thought you check for breakout in between turns? i could be wrong but it was a great video regardless
@TheRulesGirl7 жыл бұрын
Hi there! You check for breakouts after doing your actions, but before drawing your cards to end your turn. So that essentially means you check in between turns.
@richardelliott32237 жыл бұрын
Absolutely the best ever!!
@Zyocuh7 жыл бұрын
You check after the current player is done with all of their actions/ minions but before they draw cards.

Holy cows. This is Marvel Snap. I guess I should have known Ben Brode borrowed the idea from someplace, since his whole career was founded on making a copy of Magic the Gathering for Blizzard.
