History is all wrong. Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove wrote the song, not DAC. It was originally performed by Etta James under the title "I'd Rather Go Blind." DAC sang it on his 1981 album, "Tennessee Whiskey". George Jones later covered it in 1983.
