@@barkopediusmaximus5552 That's just the typical nomenclature. If it were played over top of a major chord, we would write G6/9 or something along those lines. To have the sound of a dominant chord, you need the tritone (B and F). So to have the sound of G13 you need G, B, F, and E. But indeed, from there, the fifth, ninth, and sharp eleven can be added in.

@@barkopediusmaximus5552 13 is an extension. It would be G6 if it wasn't dominant. Also in this case is a V chord. So its obviously a dominant chord, learn theory, it´s free nowadays ;)
