Loot plays on other players turns require your character to not be tapped. Otherwise you can only use active items that are charged.

At 52:44 > From my understanding, once the active players kills a monster, they then have to add another monster to the empty slot. However, if it is a non-monster they drew, the active player reads that card to all players and follows the directions on the card. The only time you would have to discard non-monster cards until a monster card is drawn and added to the empty slots is the start of the game.

I just found this today after NL tweeted about Four Souls, this was a great introduction and playthrough! I think there's a real knack to making tabletop sim comfortable to watch - by not talking over each other, not throwing objects about, and staying focussed. You guys definitely did it right and this is much better for it. A couple of really useful things you can do with dice after you mouse over or highlight them: the rotate buttons increase or decrease the top face by 1, and the shuffle button can roll the dice in place in a clean and tidy way.

why use D10s when you literally have a HP counter that you can use?

Maybe the hp can go above 4 often enough that it ends up being a hassle? Or the physical game comes with D10's so it's what sin is used to using, and the HP counters are a bit of flair for the simulator version?

Are Trinkets, Treasure, Passive cards all a one time use then get discarded? I purchased this for my Nephew and now I'm being held hostage! He's asking me does he keep the Treasure cards he bought or once used to they get tossed into the discard? As well as they other cards i mentioned. only loot cards are one time use, trinkets and items (treasures) stay with u. The golden bordered cards in the treasure are activate items, which is recharged after ur turn ends. Lootcards are the ones that gives coins, bombs, some of the cards etc

29:30 Yeah... bonus souls kinda suck. When my group plays, we don't use them because there's no real interaction you can do to mitigate the. The money and loot cards ones don't even take actual effort to get. You just race for maximum loot, get the soul, then profit from having all that loot/coin. Guppy isn't so bad since it's sometimes hard to get Guppy items. If I played with them, I'd make it so you had to pay the 25 coins or 10 loot cards to get the soul, then another player could steal them for the same price. Guppy would stick to the player with the most Guppy items. That way they're an interactive element of gameplay rather than a reward for doing stuff you'd do normally anyway.

this isnt the real game, the real game = an actual TCG (Trading card game) this is a mere table-top simulator...this right here what your watching = is not for general public (not to buy or anything) the actual game is a card game...and what your asking (a bit more developed) isnt...really....possible lol. like Magic: The Gathering & Pokemon Trading Card Game...thats what Four-Souls is....you can buy the cards in booster packs just like you would any other trading card game. You can go to kickstarter (thats where Edmund McMillen first got funding for the game) and of course his work on Legend of Bum-Bo (his next & 4th official video game) Super Meat Boy > The Binding of Isaac > End Is Nigh > Legend of Bum-Bo (upcoming) and of course his Card game Binding of Isaac: Four Souls & a few unreleased games from earlier in his career like (Mewgenics and BDDP) which were demos on Newgrounds released way back in 2003/2004.

I haven't watched all of this yet so if you correct it later just ignore what I'm about to say. But in the beginning you say that people can offer you money or loot cards or whatever in exchange for you helping them with one of your items. This is only partially true. The only thing you are allowed to give other players is money and promises. You cannot give cards to others players.

And interventions don't have to be in clockwise order. Let's say Player 1 does something and neither player 2 nor player 3 want to do anything but player 4 does. But now that player 4 did something player 2 decides to do something in response to player 4's action he can do that. It then resolves in backwards order as you said: Player 2, player 4, player 1 but not necessarily clockwise. Basically people just say "I want to do something about what you just played!" and then they just do it.

Where did you read that you can only give money and promises to people? I just reread my manual and it uses an example of a player offering to use book of belial in exchange for 2 pennies, but there is no mention of bartering/trading outside of that.

@@LunaZerOmega That's true. What I meant was, you can offer to use one of your items for someone else (e.g. book of belial) in exchange for money or even for free. Basically making a promise "If you give me 3¢ I'll use my book to increase your roll". You could also take the 3¢ and then don't use it and betray their trust but of course no one would trust you in the future so generally this is not advisable. What you can NOT do, is offering someone one of your loot cards or items in exchange for something. You can use them for others but you can't just give them away. You can only give away money.

Counters are basically objects (you can use anything really; ex: coins, pieces of paper, etc) feed an item's skill. The more counters you add to a item's skill, the better the item's skills may be (whatever it is listed) Ex: when an item card says "Add counter to roll 1+ to any dice roll." You would have to add a "counter item" (placing an object/item like coins, etc) on top of the card. You will then remove the "counter item" if you are activating one of the listed skills on the item card.
