this is the type of chess video that I needed. Deep explanation from somebody who actually plays and knows the lines, instead of just saying what stockfish says is the best move. Love it man!

I have tried a6 b5 and Bb7 and Nb8-d7-b6 in Blitz Games in this setup against the Panov to regain the pawn on d5. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is a bit too slow. All in all I think this concept in this Video is a very good way of fighting against the Panow.

Thank you for the feedback! The setup should lead to approximate equality if both players play with 100% accuracy, but obviously that's nearly impossible, especially in blitz. I'm glad you have found some solid success with it, if you are struggling with a specific line from white, let me know, and I'll send you what I would play.

Great video as usual! Even though your lines are probably aimed for a higher ELO players than me, I still find these somewhat helpful. What would you think about doing a video about how to defend/play against London System? I know there are probably many videos like it out there, but would love to see your take on it. :) Either way, love the stuff.

Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate your support. I'm glad you're still finding the videos useful, I go pretty deep in these variations but the reality is that most people (even at very high ratings) will not know more than 5 - 8 moves of theory in any given position. The depth of the lines is more to just demonstrate the middlegame/endgame you might get yourself into, so it's definitely not something you have to memorize completely. Learning the ideas and a few moves of theory will be sufficient. I hope that makes a little easier in terms of learning from these videos. I love the video idea for playing against the London, I will be absolutely happy to do it sometime next week. Thank you for the suggestion!

@@PassedPawns That's top ten percent of tournament players I think? Or less? It 's higher than people assume anyway.

Yep, you're exactly right, 90th percentile for FIDE.

On 19:24 you’re gonna play nd5 right k if he does not take the bishop and instead takes the knight with bg2 to bd5 what now? I’m still new and still learning so I can’t help but ask 😅
@PassedPawns5 ай бұрын
Hey, no worries, this is a perfectly valid question that I should have answered in the video. If Bxg5, then Rxe2+, Nxe2, Bxd5. Notice now, white is up 5 points of material, however our bishop on d5 is attacking white's rook on h1. Should white move that rook, we will play Ra8 and trap white's queen. If white notices this and moves the queen away, we can capture the rook, even out the material, and enjoy a nice advantage due to a much better position.

after B6 ( timestamp here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYmceZeohcSFi80si=779GV6gUOFkvZApl&t=758) , can you explain if Qc6 ( for white is good or not - since it prevents Bb7 from happening. thank you for the video
@PassedPawns10 ай бұрын
Hey! After b6, Qc6 is not very good for white, because you can play Ba6, attacking the rook while also having your queen protect the a8 rook from the c6 queen. After white moves the rook out of the way, you can continue with Rc8 and kick the queen out, putting you in a very pleasant position. Thank you for watching!
