Just bought a jaw harp on a whim today because they were on extreme sale. Great video, learned some stuff. Kind of reminds me of something i used to do as a kid: I used to get plastic corks from pepsi bottles and put it in between my lips and then tap on it with my fingernail, changing the mouth shape and the position of the tongue to change the pitch of the percussion, could easily get two octaves from it. Drove my parents nuts.

I learned it before i had it….. I watched many videos before it came from amazon and yes i didnt get it at first but it didnt take me days it only took me minutes 😮 I love the little thing im planning on getting more in the future I heard so many other noises from them i don’t understand??? Is it a mixture of the positions of the tongue and the inhale/exhale or what?

Hi - yes, mostly the position of your tongue and the shapes you make inside of your mouth (similar to what you do when you hum or whistle a melody)

@@DaveRuch im getting real good (in my opinion ) I had a cheap one at first which was fascinating but then i bought a “lighthouse” by glazyrin a russian harp company and oh man! It is loud and i can make some crazy sounds with it it rings for so long!, i love it dearly only 60$ Only downside is its a bit harder to play!
