DISCLAIMER: I wanted to take a moment to clear a few things up since I am getting comments saying things in this video are incorrect. After being in the Bakugan scene for the better half of 2 years, I have come to learn that everyone plays the game differently, and rules seem to vary on distribution/location. Even links to older videos explaining how to play have people in the comments confused as to why cards weren't set up a specific way and so on. Rulebooks have explained things differently depending on where you look as well. The way this video was constructed allows for a solid foundation and fun game to play, that I personally play with my friends. This specific way of play leads into the next video which covers traps, battle gear, etc... which again when researching, appears to follow the rules presented in this video. Additionally, this video was crafted surrounding the Battle Brawlers Rulebook. Is this the 100% correct way to play the game? Probably not. But everyone in the community has their own unique takes and changes to the game depending on where and how they learned to play. This is, in my opinion, the best way to play Bakugan. HSP is too barebones and the rest of gen 1 after new vestroia has too many gimmicks. I never played the gen 2 TCG, but the toy battling games of that era suffer some of the same problems as HSP. Gen 3's basic game is slightly better than gen 2's so far, but still pretty simplistic.
@darthkaliath4014 Жыл бұрын
the only good gimmicks in my opinion from the original are traps, battle gear and special evolutions! the rest are too much plastic and bakunano is mini battle gear and uneccesary weaponry
@empireyouth579111 ай бұрын
Hsp itself is honestly a pretty good party game with plenty of gimmick and twists but not very good as a full-fledged game, Bakugan GEN one was pretty Amazing reducing the Craziness from hps but adding a lot more player interaction, and while I could understand thinking that trap I am battle gear we’re perfectly fine I am actually underneath the impression they were bad as well for the game, because the thing about every single support piece is that when you look at their conditions and how to activate them most of them or actually pretty balance with each other, but because spin master wanted to support and release new products they released new support pieces, in retrospect support pieces altogether were unnecessary and the very concept itself caused all the plastic junk clutter problem generation 2 trying to convert into a more TCG star fashion actually helped fix the problem with the support pieces. Being that if you want to provide extra support for your players to buy it doesn’t increase the amount of junk they’re carrying around since it’s all contained in their deck of cards, and while there are some very bad ideas that hampered the experience (Flip cards) it was in all honesty a pretty all right sequel The real issue is that’s been master just didn’t know how to run a TCG which led to lots of confused fans awkward uneven release schedules and some every card shops wondering why Walmart and CVS Are getting cards way ahead of time before they ever get the chance to buy the recent set

This is a pretty good ruleset, and works well for things like homebrew adaptation. Personally I prefer the Japanese/Bakutech ruleset that allows for critical hits and K.O's and the 6 total ability cards instead of just 3. But I also the the way Double stands are handled here, as it requires more set up.
@_guma_2065 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Personally I mainly only played by standard new vestroia/gundalian invaders rules. Do u know how the used pile for bakugan works in Japanese rules?
@Majorlydevilish Жыл бұрын
@@_guma_2065 As far as I'm aware the used pile in the Japanese rules works the same as Here. "If you have no bakugan to roll, move all bakugan from your used pile to your unused pile." A note is that if you miss your roll that bakugan is put back in the unused pile Link to the Japanese rules: bakugan.wiki/wiki/Bakugan_Wiki:How_to_Play_(Generation_1)/Japanese_Version

I had a really mean deck using gundalian invaders. Id use the battle gear that removes all ability cards used from the game. So id force my opponent to use all of them. They get removed. Then id use the gate card. Locked and load that puts all ability cards back in unusued. So id get mine refreshed and my opponets would be gone.

great video and production as always, however... some minor mistakes, when two player tie a battle you don't roll off like you used to in the HSP rules, instead the bakugan who landed on that card first wins. also for a 3 player game each person places their card so the corners on the short edge of their card touch the corners of both of the other players others in a triangular shape, and when they moved away from the HSP rules onto these rules they actually made it so you can not place gate cards before rolling, the way it works is all players put down 1 card at the start of the game, once all the gate cards on the field are used up, everyone then puts another card down at the same time. the show follows the HSP rules and so most kids back in the day seen the characters do it in the show and just assumed you could, when me and my friends play we often allow the placement of gate cards since its closer to the show and often more fun.

All the information for this video came from the official Bakugan battle brawlers rule book! To win a tie, it states first to land a roll wins. This is later changed for new Vestroia and onward! For a 3 player game I modeled this off of the tournament arena, which doesn’t conform to the triangle formation very well. Since three players isn’t official to begin with, I found it most simple to come up with a formation that all players agree is fair. This triangle formation also does not make it very easy to lay cards down in a easy formation or pattern! Lastly, this one is probably a mistake! The Official Rulebook only use 2 player examples, which can make it more confusing for 4 players. And making it closer to the anime is much more fun!

I think part of the problem of the old toys was that the Magnets weren’t strong enough. That, and there was no real tutorial besides the First Video Game. I think had the magnets been stronger, we’d be okay.

I think you should have a look at the old KZbin channel about bakugan their is a few other variations of setting up Bakugan battle brawlers game like for a three player game it's arranging the gate cards to have the center look like a triangle & for a four player game a square with the gate cards formed a D pad.

In the rulebook it says: "Note: Setting Gate cards occurs at the start of any turn where there are no Gate cards in the field" Does this mean that both gate card must be cleared from the board before you can put an other gate in the game?

These aren't the official international rules. It's like a mix of new vestroia and HSP/battle brawlers video game. In original rules u can't place gate cards before rolling. U can do that only in HSP, BB video game and in Japanese rules. Here's the link to old bakugan official channel with the rules.
