Thank you very much for this video. I am 64 years old who plays keyboards and Guitars. Now I bought the AE-20 and it seems you place me right on the Horse. Obviously I subscribed to your channel.. You explain very simple and it is very easy to follow you.

1:40 I use a hair elastic to hold the collector on. I put it around the outside of the cup and then loop it round the cable clip.

Very good advice! Nice job. I would like to add that applying a light coat of cork grease (or petroleum jelly) to the o-rings will help taking the mouthpiece on and off smooth and easy. The reed was meant to be taken off for cleaning with a Phillips screwdriver. It is OK to take the reed off for cleaning. After I finish cleaning, I recalibrate the “Bite Calbration” (just to make sure) and the Aerophone is good to go.

I found putting a cord around the cord guide after installing the spit collector helps to stop it coming off

That is a fantastic video. I am thinking about getting an aerophone Pro 30. This instrument looks like it will be pretty simple to learn.

Thanks brother! Going to buy one real soon & scouting for free tutorials outside the iSax guy (although I'll probably give him a go). Tenor sax player from 20 years ago. Used to be traditional but I love Pat Metheny - this thing would be great for jamming 'Song for Bilbao' etc. Will subscribe/watch-later until I have the instrument. Cheers from Australia.

Thanks for this!! I'm a sax player (alto and tenor) also play flute, etc. Just bought the AE-20 (waiting for it to come in) as an extra addition for our band. I'll go through what you were suggesting when it comes in and will be looking forward to any future posts you make on this instrument! Thanks again! :)

I am a trumpeter and now not as much wind left after surgery. This is much easier. I cannot get buttons 4,5,6 to work like a trumpet as I saw somewhere. Do you know anything about setting that up? The fingerint on the manual makes no sense. Generally had just been playing in Church.

@@ralphrichardson8096 Congratulations on your successful surgery. There is a setting in the menu where you can switch from Ewi or saxophone to trumpet. Just keep scrolling right till you find it

Thanks bro! I am a percussionist, but I have fooled around a bit with wind synths off and on for quite a few years. I'm about to invest in the Aerophone in order to learn and add another dimension to the band I play with now. I hope you continue to make videos for those who want to learn and become proficient with this instrument... Peace out!

Hey. I'm not sure I've seen it sold in Nigeria yet. You might get it best by checking on Thomann Music store. They ship to Nigeria: thmn.to/thocf/cyvny2sjgx

A bit curious about this instrument. But having no experience with such instruments I wonder how hard it is to learn. My background is in organ and some piano playing, and I can play easy tunes on the guitar. Looks like the scale should not be too difficult to learn, though it is a bit reversed from what I am used to on the piano.

Just found your video. Thinking of buying one. Is the fingering exactly like the Tenor sax? You did an excellent job of introducing this instrument.

Hey man, been struggling in trying to connect my AE-20 to my iPad. I'm using the cable that came with AE-20 connected to a brand new authentic Apple lightning camera kit and then to the iPad. I tried this with SWAM, Respiro and Camelot. None on these ever see the AE-20. B/T connection works fine. Please advise. Thanks, Alex

Hello I've had the same issue with the iPad Pro. I believe it's something we have to reach out to Roland on. The wired MIDI does not seem to work on ipad. However, I am curious to note how well the BT works on SWAM and Camelot. How is the lag time and is there an obvious delay when you play notes?
@alfisher8939
@alfisher8939 Жыл бұрын
I have used SWAM connected via B/T in a live setting with AE-05 and had little or no latency problem. Have not tried it with the AE-20 but was able to walk over 50' with the AE-05.

Hey Daniel. Your best option might be to use Thomann music thmn.to/thocf/difl5daqvy. The links are in the video description. I believe Thomann still ships to a lot of coutries including Nigeria. Just pay the standard shipping fee for international delivery and you are good to go.

Hello brother, I just purchase my Aerophone AE-20 and I am not satisfied with the quality of the preset sound samples. They sounds like a Toy 😅 I want a live Saxophone Sounds... How can I modified the sounds or how create new sounds.?
@MusicalKinetics
@MusicalKinetics Жыл бұрын
Hey Tresor Congratulations on getting your Aerophone. Yes it's a reality about the instrument that first hits you. There are no really good saxophone sounds. That has to do with the fact that saxophone sounds are usually sampled and recorded multiple times in multiple dynamics. A really good sax sound is hard to find. However, you should accept the fact that you have something better than the saxophone. I like the big brass sound a lot and the violin (1&2). Recently, I'm working on building my own sounds with the Aerophone Pro app. I will do a run through of this app. If you understand sound synthesis, it's the best way to produce sounds that you are happy with. Hope this helps in a way. Please feel free to ask follow up questions. I am here to help.

@@MusicalKinetics Hey I appreciate your prompt reply! I am thinking the same thing but so far I don't even know how to upload new sounds into the Aerophone. I am thinking how to get a live Sax sound into midi format or into the AE-20 format and then upload it. Do you think this is possible? using software like cubase or flstudio... There should be a way to get the real live sounds into the Aerophones..
@MusicalKinetics
@MusicalKinetics Жыл бұрын
@@tresornadoumngar7881 your best option will be to use the Aerophone as a midi controller. Luckily, it is a very capable midi Controller. If you have the sounds you like on your computer, you could run the USB c cable to your computer and play out sounds through an audio Interface. It's a really good solution. Alternatively, if you have a tablet, you can do the same thing but using the inbuilt Bluetooth. Hence you can use the midi functions via Bluetooth and then have your sound come to the front of house through an audio interface. So far, I don't believe the Aerophone Ae20 lets you import your own sounds into the instrument directly.

@@tresornadoumngar7881 unfortunately "realistic" sounds will be an issue for any wind synth. A lot of people use the AE to control SWAM via MIDI. Even then you have to play in a way that makes the best of the sound rather than expecting the sound to respond to you like the real thing. There's a lot more to an embouchure than breath and bite and there isn't a wind synth on the market that detects more than those two parameters (and many don't even detect bite!). Personally I only use synth sounds on my AE and when I want a sax sound I pick up my sax (sorry if that sounds glib). I also find there are things I can do with my AE-30 that I couldn't do on a sax.

There is a small tab that you need to push into the corresponding hole in the body of the AE and it will hold the “spit collector” on. You don’t just slide it on as he did in this video.
@MusicalKinetics
@MusicalKinetics Жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. But even that small tab gets loose very quickly. Finally, I've lost my spit collector. The mechanism isn't really effective.
