I love watching a 35 minute video to learn a 2 and a half minute song that's going to take me 3 months to learn 😂
@shanehickman2 жыл бұрын
I can definitely relate haha, been working on the live version of Neon on and off for a few weeks now and can only play the first minute or two. Good luck!

thank you lol. this guy yapped too much, and i have a feeling he should have wrote a script first at least. there was a mistake already past halfway the video where he said on the "ninth fret" when it was clearly showing the 7th

Dude!! This is rad!! It would be awesome if you uploaded more videos like this, your covers are awesome and it’s so cool to see these absolute bangers deconstructed into what’s basically a private guitar lesson. Keep it up!!

I'm grateful that you were thorough enough to briefly go over Ryland's guitar setup. I've been frustrated for months trying to figure out what that bass pickup in his Jag is and this is bizarrely the first time I've ever heard it actually mentioned by name despite it being arguably the most interesting/unusual thing about Ryland's rig. So thanks! For those interested: it's called A Little Thunder. Mentioned at 1:45.
@shanehickman2 жыл бұрын
No worries! Just a heads up, currently the Little Thunder team is waiting on some supplies to finish the V2s, I’ve been waiting on mine since last October-ish and haven’t received it yet so if you order one it may be a while before you receive it. But I do hear that Ryland is also getting a V2 so if you want the exact sound it may be worth the wait.

@@shanehickman Good to know! Thanks a lot. Tab and tutorial are both top-notch, by the way. Keep it up.

What's that guitar? Looks so cool
@shanehickman Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It’s a Fender FSR Blacktop, it’s the same as Rylands metallic surf green one but I’ve refinished it and modded it a bit. I added a roller bridge, and buzz stop.
@JuanFelipeMedina2 жыл бұрын
are you getting his guitar tone from the free version of amplitude 5?
@shanehickman2 жыл бұрын
I personally use Amplitube 4, and also it’s not really his tone, just a similar distortion effect. If you really want to go for his tone, you should use 2 separate signal chains, 1 for the bottom three strings dropped and octave and 1 for the whole guitar. Then, the bass gets a whole bunch of processing separate from the guitar. You can dial in a similar guitar tone though in amplitube
@JuanFelipeMedina2 жыл бұрын
@@shanehickman oh i completely missed the part where you said u used amplitube 4. I also didn't realise ryan's rig was that complicated. Thanks a lot for the info though i'll try to work out what you explained to me. Amazing video
@Kainus952 жыл бұрын
@@JuanFelipeMedina What Ryland really does is use 2 separate signals. One signal going to the first three strings, the other signal going to the last three strings. With the first signal he connects a guitar amplifier, and with the thicker strings he connects a bass amplifier, that means that when he plays he can generate the bass and guitar sound at the same time. Hope this helps you!
