@@myacousticlounge Quick question - have you ever built a pedal board? if so what brand do you use or do you have any advise?
@myacousticlounge
@myacousticlounge 3 жыл бұрын
@@dmkanz I actually purchased a pedal board recently. It’s called a Stompbox by ENO Music. It’s nothing fancy and it’s very small. I just managed to get my Beatbuddy, my Beatbuddy foot switch and my Harmony pedal on the and they are tight together. Looking back, I may have gone to something a little bigger. Here’s the link below to the one I have. I wanted the struming pattern for this song To love somebody your tutorial is great, thank you
@myacousticlounge
@myacousticlounge 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Mr. Osmond, thanks for your question. Most of my tutorials are based on a 4/4 count 8th note strumming pattern. This can be very challenging to explain or show if you are a beginner. I incorporate a number of muted slap strums, variations and nuances when I strum the chords in a progression and it’s not always consistent. In the case of this song I’m loosely strumming… ⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬇️ With practice you’ll find your own strumming variations and nuances that work for this song and any other song you take on. Hope this explanation helps you.

And about Open D ?
@myacousticlounge
@myacousticlounge 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment @laerciocivali673. My channel is about learning and I always appreciate those that comment with constructive criticism. You are correct, Barry Gibb is playing in D. All of my content is meant for beginners. I’m sure you’ll agree that most people just starting out with a guitar, struggle to play basic chords in standard tuning. I’m simply showing beginners a simple way of playing a fantastic song. Thanks again.

You have a beautiful voice. I love the song and how you play it. Is there any special tuning or is it standard tuning? I'm not quite a beginner so I do know the chords, I just have a problem trying to strum at the speed your doing. I know a lot of that is practice. But can you give me the strumming pattern please. I've subscribed to you so I don't miss any of your videos.

Hi Becky, thank you for your positive comments. I appreciate them very much. To answer your questions… I am in standard tuning. All my videos are in standard tuning. I use a capo if I need to change it up a little bit to help suit my singing style for a particular song. Strumming is a challenge for many guitar players that are just starting out. I’ve always found strumming patterns can be taught but the feel, rhythm and motion of strumming can only be achieved through practice. This is why I don’t spend much time if any reviewing strumming in my videos. In this case I’m loosely strumming a DUDDUDD pattern. This isn’t necessarily the way the Bee Gee’s do it but it is the way that works best for me. I hope this helps and I look forward to hearing from you again.

@@myacousticlounge Thank you for getting back to me and yes, that helps a lot knowing the tuning and the strum pattern. Also have you done any songs by Emerson Lake and Palmer specifically the acoustic songs by Greg Lake? Thanks .

@@rebeccahernandez3460 hi again Becky, I am familiar with Emerson, Lake & Palmer although I must admit, I’ve not reviewed their material close enough to see if it’s a good fit for my channel. I look for popular songs that are easy to play for beginners. Thanks for the suggestion, I will have a closer look!

Hi JosE TorreS… I’m afraid my Spanish is non-existent. Google suggests your comment translates to “A little out of tone really, it’s the decoration”??? Not sure I’m clear on the decoration part?? If your referring to my singing style, keep in mind, my singing voice is much lower than that of Barry Gibb.. also keep in mind, this is a guitar tutorial, not a vocal tutorial. With that, thank you for commenting and I’m quite sorry you don’t like my take on this classic song….You probably have no idea what I’m saying here either but is worth a try!

Just another waste of time doing a Bee Gees song in standard tuning....if you have ever really listened to most Bee Gees recordings you know Berry is playing in open D tuning and you can hear in so many of them how the chord rhythm he plays is part of every arrangement....when Berry plays unplugged his strumming is sounds so good because the songs just pop with that open tuning sound...

Thanks for your comment Mr. Scottfan. My channel is about learning and I always appreciate those that respond with constructive criticism. For other readers who may take the time to read your comment and this feed. I will say your are correct, Barry is playing in D. All of my content is meant for beginners. I’m sure you’ll agree that most people just starting out with a guitar, struggle to tune a guitar in standard tuning let alone in D. There’s really no rules in music. Find a way to play a song that best suites your individual style and make that song your own. I’m sure many who are reading this will agree, if your just picking up a guitar for the first time, this tutorial is a good place to start and not a waste of time at all. Thanks again.
