zzzzeke Good question, I paid over 500 dollar for this one and I had heard it was awesome from reviews, so I really thought the intonation would be close to perfect. Maybe I got bad luck and something was off with just that "batch" or something, I don't know. Ukuleles is quite tricky I've noticed and also heard from alot of people, you have to pay alot more to get good intonation then lets say a guitar, a fun fact is that I bought an extra used guitar for 30 dollars, and it has better intonation then my 500+ dollar ukulele.. The Kala I bought wasn't great either. I've recently heard that Gretsch and Lanikai is the most "pricy" low budget brand but I've never tested one, honestly if I was to buy another one later on I'd probably go close to 1000 dollar or even more; like Koaloha, Kanile'a, Kamaka or maybe an expensive model of Martin
