Hi folks, I made this battle report for beginners after a request from a subscriber. The goal of this battle report is to talk a person looking to learn how to play Age of Sigmar through each step in a battle sequentially.

If you have two units with less than 6" between them enemy units can't pass between the two unless they can fly If that helps with deployment, shielding and board denial

Fantastic video, exactly what I needed and continue to need as I haven't really gotten stuck into AoS yet. Why I love this is that time is taken so that everything is explained in detail as it comes up. I find normal Battle Reports incredibly hard to get into since they are referencing at best unit abilities I don't know about and at worst obscure rules I wouldn't know where to find. This video takes the time to explain all of that in a concrete fashion, thanks! Would absolutely love to see more of these informatively styled Battle Reports, especially with other factions in order to get a general grasp for each of them. Great stuff!

Great video Doom. Last sunday, me and a friend finally started our first game of AoS. We used to play fantasy together, but he was reluctant to start the game. We played about 3 games, which took loads of time and we had sooo much fun. We have been checking up on each others hobby progress since monday. He is starting to rebase his vampire counts to round bases and I have been building and priming my ogres. Thanks for this video it will certainly help us!

So far my main list is based on the Beastclaw Eurlbad. I run one Ethereal crunch horn frostlord, Butcher with balewind and a hunter with 6 cats as a deep striking annoyance or reactive unit. I'm not really competitive but this kind of list has given me some great games even going up against FEC or Slaanesh

@@DoomDarkness it’s great just watching battle reports although I’ve only watched a few of your videos but just for me I’m really trying to find out more lore on factions in AOS as there isn’t a whole lot out there and I quite like backstories and such for characters... but that’s just me though. Also do you paint all your minis(probably a question you get a lot)?

Great demonstration! Exemplified the mechanics and flow of the game very smoothly. I could watch this many times over for all its fundamental content. One ☝️ question I had was regarding unit cohesion. After a pile in move, do all unit models still need to stay within one inch of another unit model?

Quick question - You mentioned near the start that if you run you can't charge, but then mention that the stormcast you ran weren't within charge distance. Can I just check, can you run and the charge? Another random q, when I shoot at a unit thats in range, am I shooting at the whole unit or just the models in that unit that are within range? And when the unit I'm shooting at loses models, can any models be removed from that unit? (In range or otherwise)

You can’t run and charge unless a warscroll ability specifically allows you too. You are shooting at the whole unit and the person being shot can remove whatever models they like.

Great video! I don't play (yet), but I have a question. At min 19, when the Judicators are shooting, how come all of them shoot? It seems like one or two of them are behind the building and they might not see the trolls unit? If let's say 2 of them don't see the enemy unit, only the rest will shoot, correct? Thanks!!

Hi mate yes that is correct the number of models that can shoot is based of line of site. One thing in aos is that it’s true line of sight though so if you can spot a bees dick of an enemy models little toe through the legs of another model then technically you can still shoot it!

I've played a little bit off 40k where an attack can only hit one model and damage spilling over to another actually doesn't happen. Is it the case that it does in AOS or just a personal preference?

So if you charge a unit with multiple units and they start removing models as they die until one of the charging units is no longer touching the target, does the other charging unit lose out on combat

They get to shoot but they can only shoot at a unit within 3” of them. So they can shoot at a unit that is in combat with them.

These games sound amazing in the companies descriptions and rules but the actual playing is boring and pointless as fek, throw dice, now throw more dice, now.... repeat ad infinitum!!! No strategy, little movement. Every single thing from shooting, fighting, defending, casting magic, exactly the same, no point in separating them out, might as well just say right you throw 10 dice and I'll throw ten dice whoever scores more 4's wins the game and save yourself an hour or two and 100's of pounds! lol
