I’m just getting going on self taught guitar and the Dead are the reason. Thanks for being my go to for knowledge!! (Can you occasionally talk a bit about gear? Your guitars are of interest. Especially liked the Phred rundown. )

@@TobyDavvy I love this song bro, and you make it look so easy. It's going to be a while before I can play it though. My scale work sucks, but I'm super stoked about learning F9 and E9. Unfortunately I'm still in the clamp chord shapes but not move my fingers on the strings to different notes stage. Anyway, practice practice practice. I appreciate you.

Just recently discovered the channel and subscribed. Love the content. I'm sorry in advance if you already answered this question in another video, but I am curious to which envelope filter you use and what settings you enjoy? I currently use the Spatial Delivery and can get solid Jerry up sweep sounds. What I struggle with is finding his down sweep laser gun sound. Example "Dancing in the Street" from the Cornell 77 show. Any advice would be much appreciated. Keep up the great work guys!
@TobyDavvy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for joining the family! I use a micro qtron for my envelope. And when I play dancing in the street, I just end up using my qtron and my wah pedal almost open to imitate that laser sound. But what Jerry is using is a phaser with his mutron. I think. I could be totally wrong, but that’s what it sounds like to me.

hi Davy, I get that these lessons are all really easy especially when you already know them, but I'm not the greatest at reading tab it's very confusing to me and you make it look really really easy, but your fingers are in the way (sorry) and I really can't tell what's up, (what your fingers are doing) as easy as it looks for you to do it I really can't tell what you're doing. my bad? maybe I'm alone here? I find you entertaining but I find it frustrating as well. I must try harder and be patient. I guess. thanks.
@TobyDavvy Жыл бұрын
Sorry, but the only real answer is to practice your tab reading. Especially with these older videos. I was still learning about video production. And at this point there is no plan to redo any of the old lessons. Relax, take your time and it’ll get easier. Cheers, homie.

go to the video settings, selct playback speed, then set it for .50...with the slowdown and the tabs, you should be good to go

hey man have you ever heard that this also has something to do with John Belushi? I'm not saying it does, just asking because an old head told me that a few years ago. Never thought it was was about H, but it totally makes sense now that you say it. Also, could you maybe break down Warf Rat sometime?
@TobyDavvy4 жыл бұрын
Now that you mention it, I do vaguely remember something about Belushi. That’s super interesting. And absolutely. Wharf Rat is on the list, homie.

It's about Belushi's death in a motel in West LA...the Chateau marmont. Met an old mistake, heroin-cocaine, and really had nothing good to say

Hey savvy dav can u please transcribe bobs parts for this one ?
@TobyDavvy3 жыл бұрын
Nah, I’m never gunna do stuff like that. I’m more worried about people learning to play the song, not which particular chord shape bob or Jerry was playing unless it’s absolutely necessary and if I deem in necessary, I’ll let you guys know in the videos. There are other channels out there that get into stuff like that. There’s even a guy out there that just teaches bobs parts.
